I am of proud German-Irish descent. My grandfather is from Dublin,Ireland and I'm not to sure about the German side. They must have come over MUCH earlier because my great great grandmother was from the east coast.

Scottish/German via Australia.
The Scottish side of my family moved to Australia in the mid 1800's from Bathgate, Scottland.
Not sure about the German side of my family.

I am Slovak with a pinch of German.
Actually have been to Slovakia to visit distant family members a couple times, it's crazy. They treat us like we are kings. It's a very poor country and things we consider common (toothpaste, shaving cream) are really hard to afford/come by over there.
Basically we are poor European farmers but we really know how to drink. I have Pilsner Urquell running through my veins.

My mother's family were all Irish, with all the accompanying traits: temper, drink, beguiling manner....
My paternal grandfather was born in Skimmersdale, England, outside of Manchester.
The Irish and English have hated each other for thousands of years... wanna guess what Christmas dinners could be like at my house, lol...
