Your team's top 5 players for 2011...

I'd say roster talent and potential wise, only these teams even compare.

Bama LSU USCw UTex OU Maybe FSU (getting there after last years haul, one more and they are right there with all these other teams) In this case, its all about the coacing staffs. UF showed last year how lost great talent is with poor coaching. Same with FSU for ten years under Bowden. This new staff is as elite as it can be on paper. Can't wait to see what they do with all our speed, and overall talent. Any of the teams up top could win a title in any given year. Its about great coaches, cohesiveness, team chemistry, and a little luck. Also schedule plays a huge role too

I laughed harder at Matt Patchan being one of their 5 best, hope that's true healthy or not

I do however agree that not many teams have UF's kind of talent right now

Agreed, still not in love with them but I do agree

Very excited to see what you're saying cause if it happens our offense could explode in other areas

I just wanna see Smith be more aggressive in his pursuit of the ball in air and Willie needs to just add some strength

I agree on both accounts. Every time Rodney Smith had a big game you saw him getting a lot more aggressive out there, he just needs to keep that mind set on.

If they can both turn into deep threats that will really open up our rushing attack that has already been solid the last 2 years.

Now factor in Nick O'Leary at the TE spot and our offense could really cause teams problems next year.

I also think that Jarred Haggins is going to come alive this year.

Exactly on O'Leary and the underneath passing game will be more open thus making EJ's life easier in crunch time.

    Hope it happens pray

I think a few young WR's will catch our attention this year, Im hoping Shaw, Dent, Haggins and maybe even Benjamin add fuel to the fire.

Still have Reed too and he could surprise as well

  • I'm going with:

    WR Mike Davis
    DE Jackson Jeffcoat
    LB Jordan Hicks
    DT Kheeston Randall
Tie between LB Keenan Robinson and DB Kenny Vacarro

I think Malcolm Brown (2011 RB) will end up in the top 5 at the end of the season and possibly WR Jaxon Shipley (2011 also) but I'm not putting them up there til they show me something.

It's going to be an interesting year without a lot of guys having the chance to have a breakout year.

    Mitch Connor

  • 1) C Peter Konz
    2) RB Monte Ball
    3) RB James White
    4) LB Chris Borland assuming he comes back healthy
    5) WR Nick Toon ..put up or shut up time

HM.. LB Mike Taylor, DT Butrym, OG Kevin Zeitler

Bottom 5 any QB we have

    dustelli

  • I agree with most

    EJ Manuel
    Brandon Jenkins
    Greg Reid
    Chris Thompson
    Xavier Rhodes

    next 5
    Rodney Smith
    Willie Haulstead
    Christian Jones
    Lonnie Pryor
    Tank Carradine

    Breakout player
    Kenny Shaw

Rest assured... THE WAR DANCE IS COMING!!!!

    For AU:

    1. Mike Dyer 2. Emory Blake 3. Phil Lutz 4. T Bell 5. Corey Lemonier

We are going to be very good at the skill positions, but have issues with depth and youth on the lines.

    1 Dyer
    2 Lutz
    3 T Bell
    4 Eguae
    5 McCalebb

    Big A

  • For Michigan State

    1. RB Edwin Baker
    2. QB Kirk Cousins
    3. DT Jerel Worthy
    4. CB Johnny Adams
    5. OG Joel Foreman

After that it's WR BJ Cunningham, FS Trenton Robinson, DE William Gholston, WR Keshawn Martin and TE Brian Linthicum. We have very good skill players, should have a strong secondary and have the potential for a good DL. OL is definitely a weakness.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • Just in addition to the players the Bama guys named, I'll add Dequan Menzie for UA, I don't think anyone mentioned him. I think he'll be our best cornerback next year.

I would have to put Nosa Eguae on that list instead of Lemonier. I think Lemonier has more upside but Nosa will be much more productive. Lemonier has to show that he can be good against the run before he sees the amount of playing time Nosa is going to get.

Also, I think Trovon Reed may be our most productive wide receiver this year. I know its hard to speculate since he has not taken a snap yet but he is going to be deadly in the bubble game and with Lutz playing slot receiver for us, Reed will have lots of room to get it going on the corner.

My list ( based on speculation vs. prior performance) would be

    Mike Dyer
    Trovon Reed
    T Bell
    Nosa Eguae
    Phil Lutz

Wish I could put some defensive tackles on that list...

He did well in his part time roll last year....lots of speed to deal with coming on the pass rush, and even interrupting slower developing run plays. But, as mentioned before, his overall run stopping needs to get better, which is likely due to his weight. I think he played at around 230 lbs last year, which at 6' 4" isn't very big.

That being said, if he can add the weight necessary and keep his athleticism, he should be a really good one.

He was weighing in pre AM workout around 240 this spring. He is a guy that loses a ton of water weight though and was been held out of some drills late in the season. He MAY have been 225 iron bowl week. Its weird because he has a wide frame and looked coming out of high school like he could carry another 30-40 pounds. Lemonier also needs to work on pad level. He played high last year vs. the run and got smoked. I can see him being a terror on third down but he wont hold up all year unless he players lower. On the opposite side of the spectrum is Dee Ford. He came in at 190 and looked like he was as big as he was gonna get. He is at 245 now and is still really lean. Who knows?

Look like he went top 5 overall and not just an offense and defense

If it was just defense than take away Manuel and he listed it exactly as you would prefer
