The pathetic part to me is how america celebrates the killing like we accomplished something
War still rages on
No end in sight
Took a solid 20 years to capture him and finally kill him
Overall its just a total embarrassment to me, but the american public is retarded and it makes them feel good so it is what it is

Military members rarely like movies that attempt to portray military situations (regardless of era). It's because things have to be either amped up or dumbed down so that the scenes are relatable and understandable to the general audience. This is true with anything Hollywood portrays (police work, life in the hospital, etc.). Military people are just way more vocal about it from my experience.

Why is that?
I mean yeah WTF do I know... but some of the most cynical mfers I know are ex-military. Especially about the war/the gov etc. Nova's response was almost verbatim of what I've heard a few times. It just rang familiar to me. Christ, there's an ex-SEAL about 20 feet from me as I type this... I work with two of them.

Wait people are actually pissed off and offended with this movie?
Were you offended in the Hurt Locker when they made one single guy enjoy and miss the military in contrary to what some bimbo on Good Morning America said about the military being bad?
Were you offended in LOTR when hundreds thousands of Orcs were killed, most of them innocent, just because some of them slaughtered a village or two?
Were you offended in Ferris Buehler's Day off when he skipped school and thus made a mocker of the entire system?
It's a freaking movie. Get over it.

But it's a good movie.
Normal white collared Americans don't care if things are 100% real or not. They care about after a long day of work or whatever, that they can come home and be entertained with a movie with little to no regard if it actually happened.

I know people were really, really mad about "Act of Valor" but I think Zero Dark Thirty is a completely different thing.
What makes me upset is people in Hollywood are just making this movie for profit.
Anyways, I didn't see Act of Valor and I'm not going to spend my money on this movie either.
What happened to the Saving Private Ryan or BlackHawk Down type movies?

Act of Valor was made with REAL Seal Soldiers and real Seal techniques.. Zero Dark Thirty has real actors and is based off of a story.
Act of Valor was a made up story but showed all kinds of techniques that our Seals use.. A LOT of soldiers were extremely upset with Act of Valor, they were saying giving away some of their techniques could get soldiers killed.
