    Good grief that is sad

For once I agree with you.

Also, this movie made obama look very bad for waiting so long.

Lol you are a riot. You said its "just a rumor" then I prove it isnt. Then you insist on standing your ground even as the ground for your argument shrinks beneath your feet? Way to be persistent. ... thumbsup

That so called hearing could be for a number of things, you aren't proving anything at all

I just read the article and its not for the movie being exactly what happened at all

Its more about the leaking of information

Not sure how my argument is shrinking beneath my feet but cool article nonetheless

  • I don't know why it's so hard to believe it could be close to what really happened. What sensitive info was in there that wasn't already accessible to the general public? Not waterboarding, torture, the existence of "black sites", stealth helicopters, elite teams of SEALS, tracking the courier..... all of these things were widely reported in the news. I'm not saying the movie is exactly like what happened, but I'm not sure it's such a cut and dry argument that it can't be real because of sensitive info. I don't see how anyone wanting to hurt America could watch that movie and gain anything if in fact it is correct.

Its not just the details of the raid, its the way they portray special forces soldiers that bothered me

I don't know, I know the people I saw it with all agreed with me so Im not really worried about convincing anybody of my thoughts

I served as did many I saw it with and we all were like " meh " during the entire movie

All the stuff you just mentioned isn't sensitive information

I'm curious, since DEVGRU was only on screen for like 30 minutes of the movie... what did they do that you guys disliked so much? I'm assuming it's an incorrect portrayal a la The Hurt Locker, but I'm curious what exactly they did wrong.

lmao at people still thinking this is " how it happened in real life "

God damn people are so stupid its not even funny

Come on Nova, I never said in my post that i thought it happened the way the movie played out but it was certainly based around a CIA agent that did her homework through and through. I'm sure the CIA was heavily involved and in my post I said I didn't realize that. Everybody on this board isn't as dumb as you think they are and your no where near as smart as you try to act. That being said I read a lot of your post because your an idiot and your never ending stupidity cracks me up. So keep posting and I'll keep cracking up at your stupid shit....besides, isn't that what message boards are for.

It's all good. I enjoy watching you bust people up on this board. I'm just not one of those people you bust up. I actually think before I type so I don't leave that door open to be busted up, unlike most on here.

I dont watch most movies based on true story actually thinking thats how it really happened. I had a customer that was a big booster for Odessa Permian during the time of Friday Night Lights in the 80's. He helped pay for the stadium and some of the coaches salary according to him.He owned a few car dealerships in that area at the time. He told after the movie Friday Night Lights was made that a lot of what was in the movie he has no idea where it came from because most of wasn't even close to day to day stuff that went on there. It's all Hollywood making a dollar...but the general theme of these movies is based on the true story. The only people that actually know are the people involved in these real events. I still watch the shit though.

That was my point. Maybe it didn't come across properly. As far as how they portrayed special forces, what was wrong with it?

Look ... if it's a Hollywood-made movie, then parts of hit are always going to be Hollywood'd up. But this movie brought the manhunt for Bin Laden to life, in as accurate a way as possible. It's a movie. It's entertainment. You want 100% accuracy, stay home and watch The Military Channel.

Its not even about that, but yes we should have found him sooner but Im also under the impression he wasn't as valued a target as we wanted the public to think

And you not knowing anyone is different than the american public and how they view some movie about it, you talk like military and if so then we obviously share the idea that this isn't something to celebrate

I am not military but have grown up and live in a military town. I know several team guys, I know where a few of them are stationed but I never ask...I've heard some interesting stories and I am sure I have a different view than Joe America because I know some of these guys personally...yes some are the hot headed Seal Types, but most are level headed normal guys that just happen to be bad ass guys because of their mental and physical training.

I think killing OBL was a great thing but probably for different reasons than some, it was needed for our country to heal and deal a psychological blow to an enemy that we don't understand...or want to understand

Nothing wrong with this post, but I assure you it wasn't a big blow to them at all

Its not like most of them even knew the guy, the newer generation are more pissed off than he ever was and are more determined than ever

I doubt anything would break their stride mentally

It wasn't a big blow to them, if at all operationally, but it certainly didn't feel good. It likely only added to their resolve to kill Westerners.

In killing all that have been killed we have added new generations of Muslim extremist that have actual reasons to hate us...we killed their parents/brothers/uncles....Of course, there is no right answer

I read this and just watched the movie Saturday night. Puts a lot of things into perspective. I feel bad for this ST6 guy. I can't imagine what goes through his mind everyday, but I guess this is whqat these guys sign for.....this is what he wanted to be. I just hate what he's going through financially and emotionally. Tough way to live the rest of your life.
