I know I'm LMAO when kids at RB, DL, OL and LB get major ranking bumps because of combines (SPARQ scores), camps or track times. Film of on- field performance is much more relevant than camps or combines.

If anyone attended the Walton vs Milton game they'd laugh if they were told Lawson was a 5 star on ESPN and Tyren Jones was a 4 star. Been to a lot of high school football games. 1st time I've ever seen a 5 star blend in with a bunch of 1-2 star teammates and not stand out. Perhaps he had a bad game.... But what you do on the field is much more relevant than combines/camps. I know several professional track athletes that could "blow scouts away" in Camps/Combines or with track times but aren't that good in football.

I'm not flaming Auburn.....Alabama commit Altee Tenpenny is overrated because of a SPARQ score and Oregon commit Thomas Tyner is overrated because of his size/speed ratio. Both play in states with limited competition, both lacked durability in 2011. Neither has elite "RB skills" at this moment. Both rated high due to measureables..... Which is what this industry does with RBs and why most "top rated" RBs don't excel in college or the NFL because they were overrated due to measureables. Go look at Rivals and Scout RB rankings over the past 10 years and see how off they are. Doug Martin for example in the 2012 draft.

So not hating on Auburn......just LMAO at these scouts that give more credence to camps than film/on-field performance. We aren't looking for Olympic track athletes.

I watched him play Tyren's team twice, regular season and post season and honestly until I started following these recruiting sites I did not know who he was. In neither game did he standout where a casual observer would say "that is a big time football player right there." I remember saying that is a " good looking athlete in terms of his size" but once game action started he was largely unnoticed. And he wasn't even being blocked by Walton's 4 star OL (Kublanow) who is going to UGA. Lawson was being blocked by a kid that I think is going to Citadel.

Not a flame as he may turn out to be great, just not great in two games I saw. I will get to see him at least 1 or 2 times this season as well.

Then the OP makes this post and shows that he "watched" this on BOL and it was actually posted by a different poster, not the OP. To top it all off, the OP "watched" and posted the wrong game, as it wasn't the Spring game.

And you wonder why we make fun of you for all the "inside info" BOL had on Cam and AU recruiting.
