  • We do suck, but not as bad as you guys. I think for us its the lack of a post presence.. we have nothing down low. I think that will change next year though. We will finish with a winning conference record for the third consecutive year, something we haven't done since the mid nineties.

  • Not a good state for basketball

    Its more of a northern sport

    Nobody is gonna go outside in 100 degree humidity and ball all day

    And who wants to go indoors in the summer time ?

    Most schools in the south aren't gonna be bball powers

    Hopefully all of the Florida schools can get good basketball programs going. IMO it is more interesting than baseball.

    Don't know enough about Auburn basketball to know how much money you've put into the programs but I'm sure you could do more. Also I just don't think a program in Alabama can be that good at basketball anyway. Not enough big time recruits in that area and you guys don't have much history. It will take a real special coach who can really recruit and probably a guy who can recruit in Texas or Florida for you guys to become a good program.

    100 million dollar arena we built just a few years ago. I think Barbee gets paid something like 1.5 million. Difference is the great players in state don't always goto our schools like in football. Football rarely do players leave our state that we recruit. Basketball not so much.

  • We haven't done much nationally but we do have the most wins after UK in the conference bad coaching hires set us back. Both programs do have a good tradition just not recently. Where that comes from I'm not sure..

    Sorry boz just sad about all of our sports today. Auburn is led by a mentally challenged guy with no business being in the spot he is.

    Espn had the shooting stats from the 1/2 up when I flipped it on. It was dam sad, Helen Keller shoot about that good

    Keeping players like C.Watford home would be a good start. Gottfried was able to but couldn't coach them up..

    Its tough man. PSU is in the same position, we have a terrible basketball history for the most part. We finally think we found the right guy though and we are starting to get some better players. All it takes is a player or two to change the perception of the program and you have to keep that momentum going and build the program. Finding those few good players is tough though and it will take quite the recruiter to pull it off. PSU luckily has a hell of a recruiter as our HC.
