who do u think is the best of all time and y? im going with joe dimaggio. he did so much in such little time. played 13 seasons. 2214 hits in 6821 ab's. thats career .325 hitter, 361 hr, 1537 rbi. 3 mvp, runner up twice. missed 3 years, possibly at his peak, bc he was drafted for ww2. oh yeah and he had that hit streak of 56 games. also the game after the hit steak ended, he started a new hit streak of 17 games

Barry Bonds would still have been able to mash without steroids, he wouldn't have had the same amount of home runs, but his average would still have been high and would still have a good amount of home runs. Hank Aaron and Willy Mays were two of the greatest of all time, so weren't Babe Ruth and Ted Williams though. It's hard to determine who is the best simply because the game changes so much decade to decade, and some of those great players would probably be average in todays day and age.
