Watching OTL, and it seems the popular opinion among voters is that they will not be voting Bonds, Sosa, or Clemons in this year.

I would vote no. They are the poster children for the steroids era.

Bonds maybe, Clemens and Sosa wouldn't have close to the same numbers without steroids.

Bonds yes, he was a multi year all-star before his hat size grew 5 1/2 inches, Clemens coin-flip, Sosa never.

PED's dont make your eye hand coordination better, it enables them to recover faster and maintain and or generate faster bat speed which you can sit back longer to identify pitches, etc. If pitchers and hitters alike were juicing, i say who cares.

Bonds and Clemens are nobrainer "yes" votes. Sosa is so-so.

Bonds and Clemson should be a given but a lot of the older voters won't do it. Bonds was not media friendly so that also hurts him. Sosa does not deserve to be in.

I would vote yes to Bonds and Clemons. Sosa isn't a first ballot guy, but I would put him in eventually.
That whole era has to just be remembered as the steroid era. There were so many doing it that you can't justify not putting certain people in, IMO.
It does hurt people like Chipper Jones and the likes that we assume did it without the help, but that is what baseball was for more than 10 years or so.

i think yes. as much as we dont like ped's in sports, those guys were great for baseball. i think sosa and mcqwires hr race saved baseball from becoming extinct

Which brings me to another point. Baseball allowed it to happen for that reason. It was great for the game and very much needed at the time.
