A person can get themselves a job if they REALLY and TRULY want it. If that involves moving to a different state, going up for prostitution/porn(Not recommended) then it can be done.

why work when the gov't will fund you?

Your solution is prostitution/porn? Wow. Boy, I would totally trust you with important economic matters. loco

Answer this question: you're saying anyone can get a job if they "REALLY and TRULY want it." So, are you saying all unemployment is by choice?

Good point, i think I will choose that option for myself one day...not.

In all seriousness, there are certain people who have disabilities that NEED welfare, but there are a lot of people that do NOT need it and are taking advantage of it.

That's just too broad an assertion. It depends on too many things.

Wrong. Case in point: McDonald's hired 62,000 people on their 2011 National Hiring Day. They received over a million applications. Clearly, McDonald's is not always hiring, nor can anyone who wants a job simply get one at McDonald's.

Now I see why you don't have a job. McDonald's was an example. Add in all the other fat food chains. Maybe you should stop being so proud and work a minimum wage job, I'm guessing taking things out of context isn't paying you very well?

Yea most entry level classes don't have a lot of theory. It will come. You can't do anything without theories.

    So very, very, very wrong.

Yeah, OK ... so it's just rampant and everywhere. Harvard concluded that ... once they controlled the sample ... that they could find no evidence that gun-related homicides didn't exist everywhere. Well no shit. Give me a break. No place is completely free of violence or death. That's been the case since, well ... forever.

lol I'm a corporate attorney, but nice try.

If McDonald's was an example, it's a pretty terrible example. McDonald's is one of the largest hirers in the U.S., and they couldn't even hire 10% of applicants.

Conversely, what would happen if Adam Lanza didn't have access to guns? A whole lot more people would have survived than would have been killed if that mother didn't have a gun.

Do you see how stupid such individualized arguments are?

You must be an awful attorney, again taking things out of obvious context. I see handicapped people working at public but see able body people sitting at home collecting playin video games because a job at publix is below there ego.

Three separate studies found that states the implemented SYG laws saw rates of certain crime increase as opposed to states that didn't implement SYG laws. Mass shootings have occurred in states with very lenient gun control and states with very strict gun control. Some cities that have implemented gun control have seen success like NYC, others haven't. It's way too complex and broad to make such claims and it's for both sides. People who say less guns mean less crime are just at fault as people who say more guns equals less crime. It lacks way too many factors like location, gun culture, socio-economics, demographics etc.

The VAST majority of entitlement benefits go to the disabled, elderly, or working households - presumably, all those constitute people who NEED welfare. The "entitlement society" catchphrase is a myth designed to scare a particular demographic.

Your observations are hardly indicative of a general trend. Can you show me with any sort of actual statistics that there are enough jobs for everyone? You seem to be insinuating that unemployment is a choice - am I correct in assuming that you view unemployment strictly as a choice?

I'm saying that unemployment comes down to laziness more often then it does lack of opportunity for work. I realize people get laid off & it can take a while to land another job. My issue (as with most people) are the millions who ride the system & collect unemployment (for years, thanks Obama) simply bc they can live comfortably without ever getting out of bed in the morning. As for your example, when people call our company (almost daily) to ask if we are hiring, our response is always "we are accepting applications & would be willing to talk to you"... Guess how many come interview ? (they just want to mark down that they called so it looks like another business told them they weren't hiring) The ones that do often get jobs.

I love how you view your personal experiences as if they're indicative of nationwide trends.

How often is "often"? What percentage of applicants does your company hire?

Also, I'll just point this out: the number of people who "ride the system" is a whole lot less than you make it out to be.

In both cases the guns were nearly a means to an end. You should hold Adam Lanza responsible, but it sounds like you're blaming the weapon.

That gun would have done that poor Loganville woman no good at all ... if it wasn't there and even less good if she didn't have the courage to pull the trigger. In both cases, it was people who made decisions.

If you are of able body and mind and don't have a job then IMO its by choice. Links to prove anything, it's statistics using lazy people with poor work ethics that don't want to get a job. And many "unemployed" work for cash which also helps to fudge the numbers.
