Nobody said it was a national trend... You asked for an example & I gave you one. You keep deflecting on my point. More people are unemployed by choice than lack of jobs available.

As far as percentage of hiring goes, I know it'd be pretty dang high. (high turnover)

You keep providing zero evidence for your point. Anecdotal evidence is nothing - if you're going to keep asserting this point as true, you should be able to provide something more than stories from your own experience as evidence that "more people are unemployed by choice than lack of jobs available."

Can you give me anything other than anecdotal evidence?

If you are of able body and mind and don't have a job then IMO its by choice. Links to prove anything, it's statistics using lazy people with poor work ethics that don't want to get a job. And many "unemployed" work for cash which also helps to fudge the numbers.

I'll take this sentence by sentence.

If you are of able body and mind and don't have a job then IMO its by choice.
So, all able-bodied unemployed people are lazy and are actively choosing not to earn any money? Fantastic analysis.

"Links to prove anything, it's statistics using lazy people with poor work ethics that don't want to get a job."
This is literally nonsense. You messed up at least one word somewhere in there.

"And many "unemployed" work for cash which also helps to fudge the numbers."
What do you mean by "many"? Got any evidence of this?

  • Worked at a gas station/grocery store/feed store(those of you in the south know what I'm talking about) in high school. Most frustrating thing that happened on daily basis were people buying $20 in candy/chips then turning around and spending more on beer and tobacco. Ebt cards are so abused. Then you look outside and they're driving a nicer car than I am. America protecting lazy people since 1776.

Again, got any evidence to back that up?

Roman Numerals = mighty slayer of straw men.

I have a master's degree in political science (although I chose not to pursue that profession, i.e., academia...instead, like you apparently, I chose the law). You constantly asked for "evidence," as though you are sparring in a court room shouting objections. Apparently peer-reviewed and methodologically-sound research and studies are the only thing that you consider "evidence" when it comes to the societal problems discussed in this thread, which backs you into a very intellectually dishonest corner if taken to its logical conclusion: if such studies or research (i.e., "evidence") do(es) not exist in the social science literature as it stands today, then there must be no proof that any given theory or hypothesis as to whether a causal relationship exists is true. Because it can't be proven, then it must not exist at all. All anecdotal comments must be cast aside as non-empirical retard-speak as well as those who utter them.

You do realize how utterly ignorant and ridiculous that position is right? An entire liberal arts major (History) and its various permutations are built almost solely upon anecdotal evidence and hearsay. Yet no one in their right mind would contend that in light of this obvious deficiency that somehow "history" as a subject matter is not important or legitimate. You understand that right?
