Laughable? hey, we realize we're in the big ten. What team in the big ten could compete for a NC? I don't see that happening for quite a while.

From my experience there a couple months ago, there were a good amount of posters who thought MSU would challenge for a NC bid this season.

There were like 5 guys claiming we could win it all. The rest of us either ignored the thread or had a good laugh.

If it happens, awesome but I wouldn't count on it.

I know this might cause a flame war, but here it is regardless. Do you truly expect MSU to win the B1G after replacing their starting QB, just about all of the receivers, and starting RB? Seems like a lot of key pieces to replace on offense.

I guess this works both ways since it's showing that both of us don't know that much about the other team. Michigan loses the starting DT, Mike Martin, but that is really the only loss. Ryan Van Bergen is being replaced by 3 year starter Craig Roh and in turn Roh is being replaced by super athlete Frank Clark/Brennan Beyer at WDE. The other DE spot was a rotating door last year so there was no real starter there anyway. As for OL, it is really good outside of LG, which could improve depending on how Kyle Kalis adapts to the college game. There is only one loss at WR so it isn't that big of a deal. TE is a big worry though. I expect Michigan to compete for the B1G title, but you never know what will happen in the season in regards to injuries, regressions, progressions, and breakout players.

I don't know. I like what I saw in practice and I believe Maxwell has better tools and a bigger upside than cousins. Without injuries we'll be fine at receiver and very good at tight end. But it's why I don't predict, or if I do I say we'll be 12-0 and be done with it. Maxwell is very good. I'm excited for this, however how will he do in front of 75K? Pressure makes diamonds and busts pipes. We dint know crap about who stays healthy who gets hurt who comes on big and who doesn't grow. We certainly don't know what the weather is going to be like October 20. All we know is MSU has a shot at beating each opponent on their schedule. They certainly have a good chance to lose each game too. There have been many years I could not say that MSU has a chance to beat every opponent-- i can this year. Certainly doesn't mean they will. I don't get how certain people can "predict" what will happen between teams like MSU UM Neb Iowa et al. There is one moron on here that said MSU has zero chance to beat uofm this year? Really? How ignorant is that? I might get a feeling for the game the Friday night before it. Then I get a better feeling after the first two series, but still then, I've seen the better team lose that game a couple times.

Go ahead and predict. If you are that confident, you'll be a millionaire. The idiot who says MSU has zero chance to win that game should put his savings down on it and borough 50K to bet. Think he will? It's may. How do you predict October games?

Cousins was a 2 star. Maxwell is a 4 star. We've increased by two full stars. How could we not be better at QB?

Not sure what your point is, but based on stars Maxwell will be twice as good as Cousins.

I'm still worried about Maxwell. I of course hope for the best, but as Dwag mentioned, we have no idea how he will handle playing under pressure. He's never started a college game yet! Even the most talented athletes have issues with that. But we do have the talent to win all of our games, just can't say exactly what will happen though.
