    You wish that was it. Van Gorder produced top 10 defenses every year but his first year at UGA in the toughest conference in college football. Van Gorder also helped Georgia to double digit wins 3 out of his 4 years, 1 SEC championship, and 1 BCS bowl game. He is also well regarded enough to get a job as an NFL defensive coordinator

    I would take Van Gorder over Stoops 10 times out of 10. If Chizik did go after Stoops, it was probably because he thought getting Van Gorder from an NFL team was not possible

  • I kept hearing that since he is the #1 that he feels like he has nothing to prove which I guess is fair. I would like to see how he responds if Rueben Foster or Montravious Adams overtakes him. Maybe he'll come out to play.

  • No question Nkemdiche is a great talent but is he really worth having on your team? Seems like a future "cancer" imo. If he doesn't get what he wants, he'll cause trouble. It's kind of sad really because by all accounts he is a genuinely nice kid.

    Some of this is getting so ridiculous that the thought has to come into your mind that he is trolling Clemson hard. Since it's AJC I take it with a grain of salt but the most telling part of that article was the comment about OM offering the Carter kid and Nkemdiche saying if Clemson doesn't offer him then he may look at OM a little harder. What about the other friends he's gotten to Clemson? Do they not matter anymore? This is going to turn out ugly imo. Don't be suprised if he holds off signing his LOI until after his buddies have signed with their school. Then he signs where he wants to go. Otherwise, his buddies might not have an LOI to sign from Clemson. We may be witnessing the greatest recruiting game we've seen.

    Who are these people? I am not positive, but I believe the Auburn 247 board reported from the very beginning that Stoops was never even offered the Auburn job

    It also does matter that we think our defensive coordinator is better, because it means the comparison you tried to make to the bammers obsession with this kid is not a valid comparison. bammers still obsess over this kid. bammers still wish they could get this kid. Not 1 Auburn fan on planet Earth still has those feelings over Stoops

    RN is an outstanding talent. We all wanted him and thought strongly we would get him. However, nobody knew we would have to offer three of his teammates that we would never have offered otherwise to get him. That's a red flag.

    Knowing what I know now, I would rather go get Demarcus Walker who is in his own rite a great talent, top 50 nationally. Rather have a top 50 player at the position and use the other 3 schollys for other elite recruits than #1 and 3 guys we don't want. Pretty simple really. But yes, we all thought we'd get him and now we won't. Given our class ranking and who is left on our board, looks like we'll be A-ok. Especially since we look pretty good for DW right now...obviously, things can change...
