The problem with all of you saying something needed to be done but this wasnt it is that if the supreme court strikes down the entire law then there will never in your lifetime be another healthcare law aimed at actually fixing the mess. It will be a grenade that no politician will want to get close to.
All the arguing is bs. The fact is that people's lives are on the line with this decision. If the law is struck down completely then people will die who otherwise could have lived somewhat normal lives. It's not a fact of "being poor" or "being lazy". What would you do if your daughter had a deadly disease that cost $50,000 a month without insurance? What if no insurance company would cover her care? Then all of a sudden a law is passed and she can get care and she is living her life. then a few years later that law gets repealed and your daughter is dropped from insurance again and will die without the medical care that costs $50,000 a month.
This situation will be playing out with thousands of families if this law is struck down.
