Had a weekend in Beer City (Asheville NC) last month and came back with some real treats.

    In order of preference:

    1) Modus Hoperandi
    2) Green Flash Le Freak
    3) Crooked Stick IPA
    4) Hopulum
    5) One more I can't remember.

    I love beer.

New brewery in town with some Oklahoma brewery on tap. Going to try it out tonight.

  • Bump for new seasonals.

Sierra Nevada Celebration should be hitting soon.

Had a Green Flash Double Stout last night that was delicious, and saw the Founders Double Chocolate Breakfast Stout on the shelf.

    Good times.

  • I was just about to bump this thread. Funny.

I finally got my hands on a bottle of Dogfish Head Bitches Brew. Can't wait to try it.

As far as seasonals go I picked up Full Sail Wreck the Halls. I haven't tried it yet though.

  • Dogfish Head can do no wrong.

I'm a big Green Flash Brewery guy right now. Dogfish Head is hard to find outside of the occasional bomber here or there.

    Never seen that brewery.

    Never seen that brewery.

It's a Philadelphia brewery, I mainly like the IPA, but they make a couple of other good beers.

They make an 'Ales of the Revolution' variety case that features brew recipes that were supposedly developed by a few of the "founding fathers". I remember one of them is mixed with Spruce or something crazy like that... actually tasted pretty good.

  • a bunch of Yards stuff

  • I too am unfamiliar with Yards, but I'm pretty intrigued now.

Had an Evil Twin Hop Flood bomber this weekend, and bought a sixer of Ballast Point Big Eye IPA. Both are very good.

Tried some Shipyard Pumpkinhead last night. The only thing better than how it tastes is how it smells. Good stuff.

Also, from your earlier post, Modus Hoperandi is one of the best beer names I've ever heard.

I wish I could get my hands on it. I can't get Shipyard in my area.

The Pumpkinhead is good, but the rest of their beers aren't up to par....

I've always wanted to try it as it is, but after seeing the special about them making it I *really* want to get my hands on it.

I still haven't got to try mine. I am waiting for my brother to get to town because he has been wanting to try it as well.

  • Anybody here from Hoboken or Jersey City? I have a beer bar in Jersey City I think any and ALL would like to venture into....

HopsScotch. We're craft beer and scotch. We have 40 on tap, 55 in a bottle (all high end, one bottle is 37 bucks), 60 single malts and 125 whiskys. Food menu is damn good. We "stole" the executive chef from Koi who designed all their menus.

Ex. Potato skin - Small russet potatoes, smoked duck confit, gruyere cheese sauce, creme fraiche, serrano ham and chive.

We also have 17 screens and show EVERY game. I mean, I'll put cricket on if you want it....

  • For fans of Woodchuck, what are some other good hard ciders? I saw something at the store earlier called Angry Orchard that looked like it could be good, and another brand called Redd's that looked pretty meh.

I don't have much experience with ciders.

  • Picked up a 12 pack of Deschutes Jubelale today. It's a pretty damn good winter/seasonal ale.
