Yes, I was going to age this one but since I was getting a second I went ahead and had this one. It was really good. One of the best beers I have ever had.

They're an awesome brewery. I've been buying their Union Jack a few times a week as it's been on sale for a while at my spot for $7.99 a sixer. Double Jack is really good, too.

    Yeah, I said it.

I can't wait for them to start showing up in Dallas in a couple of weeks. I hear Wookie Jack is great.

If I actually lived in Dallas I would be camping out Total Wine for when they get in Parabola. They are supposed to get a couple of cases of 2012 Parabola.

I doubt you guys get any out there. They are only doing it in Dallas because we are just now getting Firestone-Walker. They did it in Austin a couple of weeks ago. It is a big release thing. This is March 18th just in case though.

They won't release 2013 Parabola until May I believe.

That's what I thought. I'll try to get a few in May, but I probably wont drink it until next year.

If I am fortunate enough to get one I will definitely age it. If I somehow get a 2012 I will go ahead and have that bad boy since it is already aged a year.

  • I've seen a couple Missions brews by me, only had their Blond ale which was okay.

Some dudes from Chicago just opened up a bar 3 blocks from my house this weekend. There is pretty much nothing in the way of craft beer in the places around me so I'm pretty pumped for this.

  • Went to "World of Beer"tonight and had some great beer.

Great Divide Oranelle - very similar to La Fin du Mond. Less filling taste and didnt coat the mouth loke La Fin but very similar taste profile. Great Belgian beer IMO. You can't beat La Fin but this is delicious.

Double Bastard - very new to the barleyswine game but this was a tad underwhelming. Great taste upfront but very boring after that. Maybe that was their goal but it didn't do much for me. If you like beers that finish very smooth and don't have much after taste, you will LOVE this beer. Just not my style. I can understand why people love it though.

Stone Sublimly Self-Righteous Ale - WOW. Incredile beer. If you close your eyes and smell, you'd never know it was a black IPA. I love this one. Great beer. Balanced and delicious, probably my favorite stone brew. Better yet, it was on tap for half price, as the bar was trying to finish it off. I will never understand why a bar would have trouble selling this out. Awesome brew.

Who would you rank ahead of them? Ballast Point, The Bruery, Green Flash?

Ballast point is easily my personal #1. Green Flash top 5. I've had 51/50 IPA for the past couple weeks and its just as good as Sculpin.

My down side is that I've become such an IPA snob that I kinda judge a brewer by their IPA.

And I sample something different every time I go out and always think its better than stone. Stone is still very good, just not as good as some I've tried.

I've had their Shipwreck and one other(can't recall the name) and I thought they were both solid. Shipwreck being the better of the 2.

All my beer shops were not ready for the response and purchased what they would for Lake Erie Monster. Needless to say I can find it every where now. Hell one of my places still has a tower of nugget nectar.

  • Unicorns Revenge by Pipeworks

This DIPA has an interesting citrus taste that is a bit different and I can't quite pick it up. I usually pick up grapefruit or lemon or orange when I drink DIPAs like this. This one has something extra. I couldn't pick it out myself. Looking at BA, people are mentioning mango, I've never had mango so I can't concur. Either way, its unusual and delicious. Its one of those that coats your mouth with a residual syrupy sweetness. Never tried one like this but the lingering mouthfeel is is similar to zombie dust. Not exaggerating. The scent on this is also top notch. You don't catch the "mango" in the scent until you taste it though. It's smells like ZD.
I expect this one will be very popular. Big big fan. If anyone wants some let me know. I'd love to figure out a good trade at somepoint this year. I'd rather trade with guys here that I interact with.
