Indeed. I'm still working on my Oscar Blues Gubna Imperial.
Southern Tier is the absolute S. That and Stone IPA are my dogs/boys/go-to/good-time boys.
Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I.

you in chucktown? available in columbia? never had one.
I will add to the beer thread though, that not only did I drink several guiness tonight, I also cooked a pot roast in guiness and it was fantastic.
must add though that now I am drinking woodford reserve and squinting at the screen.

I'm in Greenville. Apparently its really hard to get Coast bottles anywhere outside of Charleston, but we finally got them up here. Great beer because its so fresh.

I picked up a six pack of Lagunitas Little Sumpin, Sumpin Ale tonight. I really liked it. The best way I could describe it is a hybrid between an IPA and a wheat. It should make an excellent summer beer.
Also picked up a 4 pack of Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA which is always delicious.

Well said. Dogfish Head is as reliable as they come. Sumpin, Sumpin is a great summer brew.

Had an Old Stock Ale Cellar Reserve 2009 from North Coast for my birthday. Can't beat bourbon barrel aged beer.

I will be in Charleston for a couple of days this coming week. I will definitely try that one out. I will then move on to Asheville, NC where I will pick up a couple of 22's of Asheville brewing co's Shiva ipa. It is a top shelf ipa imo.
This little road trip will allow me to try some new things and pick up some stand by greats. Any suggestions on local brews to try, cool places to eat, drink and visit would be greatly appreciated. My wife and I will be leaving Mobile on Sunday driving straight to Charleston, then to Pinehurts, NC and then to Asheville, NC if that helps let you know the general path we will be taking.
Aussie mentioned Dogfish heads 90. That is definitely top shelf. I hear DFH is scaling back its distribution. They thought they were getting to big and might lose their craft edge. To bad for us in Alabama. It never made it here, except in my and others trunk. (G)

haha. Coast brewery in Charleston, SC has a brew called Event Horizon Cascadian Dark Ale. I want to try just due to the name. Unfortunately the web site doesn't have a description of it.
Their line up is intriguing btw.
Some on here will remember the movie Event Horizon.

I agree with this. I used to drink it a good bit till I found dogfish head, stone, southern tier, etc.
The only 2 beers i've had by Coast is the pilsner and their Hopart IPA. Both were good, but I prefer IPA's over pilsners.

Only reason I bought it was because I got a free glass to take home with me which looks pretty cool. Still looking for a beer to top Southern Tier 2X IPA.

Speaking of pilsners. I had a samuel adams pilsner not to long ago and it was damn good. Not at all what I generally like in a beer. In fact I generally summarily dismiss pilsners as a group. However that was a damn good beer. It would make an excellent session beer for ball game days while tail gaiting.

Had Procrastination Wheat (my own American wheat home brew) for the first time tonight...... it was pretty decent. Still a bit green. I'll have a big IPA ready in a couple weeks. 90 IBU and 9.5 ABV. It's going to be tasty.
