People need to learn how to use the search feature, its so easy to use and one of my favorite parts of this site

They need to make it for mobile too, that is why most don't seem to know about it

You two need to quit your crying. There are a whole lot worse threads than one's that provide some good recipes. I actually haven't seen one on chili in over six months.

    Doing mine for the SB

I like your take with the bourban, bacon and Guinness. I've actually never tried beer or bourban in my chili. It took me years to get mine the way I liked it though. Once I had it, I'm afraid to fvck with it too much. Sometimes I do add a couple of hot and spicy conecuh sausages and add a little more beef broth but that is about it.

Bourbon makes everything taste better. It's the liquid version of bacon.

  • Personally I would add single malt scotch or Irish , but maybe I don't know enough about bourbon

I would never do anything with single malt outside of putting it straight down my throat. I would never cook with it.

It's not my recipe actually. A friend of mine entered a huge chili competition in CA 10+ years ago as a goof and literally pulled that out of his ass on the fly. He's an outstanding cook but had no exp making chili. Ended up winning the whole thing. It's a bit of a process but it kills. And yeah, I enclosed his fine tuned version, like you he's been tweaking it for years

Oh the recipe that I listed didn't come from me either. I kind of mixed and matched things that I got from other people. I got the three dump method online from some old national chili champ recipe and mixed in a couple of other things that I liked from about two or three other recipes. None of that sprouted out of my own brain though.

My GF introduced me to conecuh sausage.. Fricking love it

Wait, what? I dont think i have ever had chili without beans. In fact i would go so far as to say without beans it isnt chili.

If there's no beans, it's just spicy stew

I've heard of that. There is a store bought BBQ sauce that I fell in love with when I lived in North Carolina that was made in Johnston County. I actually order the stuff online to this day. I don't think I have made a homemade BBQ sauce in damn near a seven years or so.

Edit: I actually wish that I could remember the guy that introduced me to that hotsauce.com website a couple of months back. I had a buddy that was talking mad shit about how spice was nothing to him and he could take anything. Well that website had some of that liquid capsaicin stuff with the eye dropper and I lit this dude up. I showed him what I was putting in the sauce to make the wings as harsh as I could and he was all good with it.

He wasn't right for about two days lol

I thought there was no search function when I joined 24/7. Is it new? I have used it recently and it's good. Need it for mobile

Pretty sure he initially mixed and matched as well.

Stuff is good no doubt. I missed it when I moved out of Alabama. I couldn't get the stuff when I lived in North Carolina or Indiana. It was one of the first things I looked for when I moved back home.

Yeah , you are prolly right. However, I did used to add red wine to my pasta sauce . Good times. That was back in the day when I had so much time I would cook to just make the day to away

Have my own, curious of some other recipes out there. Looking at freezing rain later so figure a good crock pot of chili could be in order. Turkey, beef whichever. Wanna try something different

An alternative to ground beef is to use stew beef. Cube it up, marinate in your favorite brew for a bit, saute on high heat but DO NOTOVERCOOK, or even finish cooking for that matter, let the crock pot do the rest. If done properly, you will enjoy greatly

I use red wine in my pasta sauce as well. I actually use red wine that is drinkable. I would never cook with wine that I wouldn't drink. I mean nothing crazy, but about 25 dollar a bottle red wine. Thing is that single malt is expensive as fvck. At least the stuff that I get. Scotch and wine are two different animals.

I would never use ground beef in chili. Once you use the good stuff cubed, you'll never cook it any other way.

I don't really think so, but I haven't lived in any other states than the one's I mentioned earlier and that was four years ago or so at the earliest. I lived in Indiana from 18-26 and NC from 26-28 or so. I have no idea all the states that you can get it in now. It's made in Alabama though.
