Judging by how far out he's holding it from his body the head probably is around his knees and the top of the body is around neck high. If he's 5'5 that knocks off at least two feet. That over 3 feet on both sides of the bend and the bend over the stick is at least a foot. So ya, 7-8 feet long.

I killed a 6'9" one here in Alabama about 20 years ago that had 13 rattlers and a button.It was as big around as my thigh.
All I had in my truck that day was a chain so I beat him to death with it.I've got six smaller ones in the freezer now that I killed this year. 5 timber rattlers and 1 diamond back. Dressed and ready to have a rattle snake cookin soon. I've gone some years here and never see a rattler all year.This has been the best year I've ever had finding them here. 5 out of the 6 my white sheppard had bayed and I've learned to tell now what she is barking at before I even bother to go see.
