That Thanksgiving Day team? Dallas and Detroit. Every year. I understand Dallas. Why Detroit? What have they done to deserve this day?
Should be Dallas and Pittsburgh, IMO.

The Lions started the tradition of playing on Thanksgiving. They're the reason we have football on Thanksgiving.

Serious question. Detroit sucks. They have always sucked. Just weird for such a poorly run franchise to have this kind of honor. It would be like the Kansas City Royals playing on a special day every year instead of the Yankees or Red Sox.

They played the Bears (who won) but I believe it was the owner of the Lions (or whatever they were called when they first moved to Detroit) who orchestrated the Thanksgiving Day game, hence Detroit started it.

Lions have played every year since 1934 except for WWII. The 1934 game was broadcast nation wide by NBC's 94 radio stations.

Troy, Birmingham, and for the younger folk Royal Oak are terrific places to live. And if you're into water. Walled lake, West Bloomfield and such are great places too. Stay out of Oak Park and Southfield though,

Dallas because every so often they may play a good game , plus as you get older you'll realize that Detroit is on so you can eat & then all of the men can hit the recliner while giving the excuse of watching football.
