why is texas a&m taking so many receivers

What team in this country only uses 2 wide receivers?

    Don't worry, I'll wait.

Keep waiting bud, there was some slight embellishment in that comment, doesn't take a genius to figure that one out

shrug Georgia Tech? Only had two WR's with 10 or more catches (another had 8, the next two had 3 and 2).

Army as well only 2 WR's with more than 6 catches

I would love to know how the hell they are allowed to take like 37 players with a 25 player limit rule. I have never understood why we have this rule if people just piss all over it.

I understand why UGA is able to do it and I'm not sure how A&M's numbers are. UGA had about as many scholarship players as USC did this year.

    a) they havent "taken" 37, they have 35 currently listed as "committed". (commits < NSD-L.O.'s < signed scholarships)
    b) 9 of the "35" are projected early entries (35-9=26) shrug

which leaves the need for one additional early entry (if last years #'s allow ) or a non-qualifier, for 25 in 2013's class.

also keep in mind that the current list of prospects (minus the 9 EE's*) is nothing more than that. a "list" of committed prospects. do any de-committ ?

the above isnt crazy, it isnt weird, its not MAGIC.

the 25/85 rule is as basic as 6th grade math although i will admit it goes "OVER" the heads of one entire web site. lol

  • signed a medium sized class last year -- a lot this year are rolling back to last class

some are grade risks like 6'7 WR derrick griffin who is almost a sure bet not to make it in. and since he is likely not to make it in he will likely not sign a LOI since we are about maxed out.

Yeah but they would still sign even if they don't end up making their grades. They aren't ruled ineligible academically in February when they sign. That wouldn't come until they graduate which certainly isn't in February.

They have a good idea in February who isn't qualifying and those people will not sign on NSD if they need to get down to 25 signees.

Bama has 14, OU 16, A&M 19. Hell LSU has 17, IDK why, they only use 2 of them. The NCAA does care, don't exceed 85 and don't exceed 25 come signing day. So far A&M is still within those boundaries. If all the top WR talent in the nation wanted to come play in Sumlins offense with Johnny Heisman, I wouldn't turn them down either.

LSU only has 12 on the roster. And using 2 is an improvement compared to the 1 last year. Maybe we will be able to use 3 next year. roflmao

Last update 4-3-12. I missed that the first go around. My fault.
