  • Heard a snippet of it on the news last night. Her boss sounded like a huge cvnt in the statement.

  • Ha, I just got in a huge fight with my daughter who donated 65% of her liver to me.

Don't know the particulars of the kidney case but if she was hired for the kidney then fired she'd have a "like value" argument for the value of a donated kidney vs the money she received while working.

Am I heartless to say she should have never put herself in that situation?

  • Not exactly sure how she is going to get her kidney back. From what I read her kidney ended up going to someone other than her boss.

  • The only reason the boss moved up the transplant list and got a kidney was because this lady donated it for her.

It was a 'you donate a kidney and if it doesn't match you, that goes to someone else and you get a matching one' thing.

She got fired mostly from missing work after suffering the after effects of donating the kidney.

Boss is a b*tch and deserves to be sued.

not at all. you'll only give up an organ if you're a family member or if they're your best friend and you completely trust them.

Not accurate. You don't move up the list with a live donor. You stay on the list in your place until the donor organ is transplanted in case the operation doesn't go through.

The organs are pre matched by blood tests. If the organs don't match they just don't do the surgery and they look for another donor.

Okay then explain why the doctors allowed this woman to donate her kidney at all if it didn't match her boss?

They did a "like donor" transplant which is rare and full of obvious legal pitfalls as you can see here.

I don't know the case here inside and out but as the recipient of a live transplant I'm more than well versed on the process.

Okay, either way though- would the boss have received a kidney as quickly without the donation by her employee?
