  • We won't be as good next year. We lose most of the oline and some key players on defense. The nfl draft is gonna get a decent share of our juniors too.

  • we wasnt supposed to be good in 08 either but we were a 4th quarter away from playin for the title!

  • We'll be good again next year. We have sone guys on the OL to replace be we have some studs waiting in line. We will lose a couple of guys on defense and that will hurt but we develop players as well as anyone. I'm stoked about this past recruiting class. It appears to be loaded with future stars.

  • The problem is we are losing a lot of under classmen.

  • I believe in just reloading sometimes, but not if you lose 3 all americans on the oline. As good as Julio, Ingram, Dareus, etc were, you win championships obviously with D, but particularly on the Oline for that side of the ball. And I really think it's easier to replace great players at any position other than QB and Oline. We'll be really good, but that's asking a lot. If we finish the 12th game with an above avg chance of playing for the NC again next year, it will be Saban's best coaching job of his career IMO.

Depends on Fluker, IMO. I really like the line Cyrus, Arie, Kelly, Steen, and Fluker could be next year. Losing Jones and Warmack will definitely be tough, but the guys stepping in will be very adequate and should still be a good group, but of course not as good and definitely not at proven. Fluker staying would give this group a vocal leader that they need, IMO.

The key to Alabama's success next year will be the same as this season. We need to have 3 CBs that can sure up things. Consistancy at that spot has been the weakness this year for sure.

Haha, they are just puppies, Pawl.

Bama has been young for a couple years now but you never heard Saban ever use it as an excuse like the aubs do. They perfected that excuse and the fanbase bought into Chizks bs.

Geno Smith will replace Milliner & Landon Collins / Vinnie Sunseri will replace Lester in the secondary.
the question on the D-front isnt who replaces Dial,Square,& Williams. its the level of play delivered by the 2's next season.
the backers are deep w/ talent & numbers.

offensively "the o-line" will have a different look but im not sure there will be a dropoff as a unit.
Cy Kouandjio, A.Taylor,R.Kelly,A.Steen,DJ Fluker(or A.Koundjio,A.Shepherd,L.Brown*,L.Tunsil**). again the 2's will be the question mark.

Lacy could opt to turn pro but there will be ample bodies at RB while TE (M.Williams) could be a question.

  • Attrition can kill any team, just as much as injuries, turnovers and other elements of the game. Bama recruits well and has good coaching staff, but you never really know what the season can hold for any team. So, to me, projecting a team based on what they lose to graduation/draft is like making national title predictions in August: makes no sense.

Talent isn't the question. Experience is. That shat counts for a lot. Gonna be a learning curve at a few positions. We will be top ten good. Much more is icinging on the cake IMO. We play a&m week 2. Gonna be tough

I think we will be alright at DL. I think Pagan might be our most talented DL and Stinson was playing well before his injury. It will be interesting to see how the young guys develop such as Fanning and Pettway and the abundance of true frosh we have that are RSing.

Would like to see fluke back, don't see Taylor at guard unless he develops a lot in off season. Most skill guys are back.

Milliner to whomever will be drop off. You just don't replace the best CB in football that easily, IMO and neither Geno or Belue look like Mo Claiborne, IMO. I am not saying that they need to be that good. We would be much better off with them being adequate and having Fulton, Washington, or Sylve be able to step up and be productive in nickel.

The O-Line will still be good, but there will be a drop off as well. That doesn't mean a lot though. They may not be the best line in football, but can still be one of the better lines.

RB is no worry as long as there aren't more injury issues that we have had this year, IMO.

Michael Williams will be missed for his blocking ability, but I like the mix of receiving TEs that we will have coming back. It would be great if the light could turn on for Malcome Facionne (sp?) because he has the same build as Williams.

If CJ leaves he will be difficult to replace, but if he decides to stay (maybe not quite 50/50, but not a sure thing he is leaving) the LBers will be very exciting to watch next year and better than this unit.

Jesse Williams and Square are going to be big losses, especially against the run, but I love the thought of getting to see Pettaway, Pagan, and Fanning getting more playing time as well.

pin this to the fridge my Bama bro.

when McCarron committed i said " AJ would be a 3 year starter & start in the Senior Bowl ( alot of P.Sims / S.Jackson lovers gave me sh7t).
and last spring i said "A.Taylor would have started this year if we didnt have Warmack & Steen."

trust me when i say... he's a very atheletic big man & a freakn road grader.

the one i'm sweating is going against history on "the 3 peat in 13." cool

I agree with this post. I am just excited about our current frosh class. I really think we have a ton of potential in terms of playmakers and we are missing a guy like Chris Black that many thought would be a big contributor as well. Cooper, Black, Yeldon, C. Jones...that might end up being a very good group.

As for defense, I think Moseley would be one of our biggest losses if he left. That said, I am excited about the young guys like Devall, Ragland, Smith, and Collins. Remember, we have Eddie Williams who moved to defense after a couple of injuries. It will be interesting to see where he is at come spring practice. This roster has plenty of talent going into next season.

It's actually 9. 8 started the season, but another was awarded after the season started when that JUCO CB left (can't remember his name). We will probably lose 3 to the draft. 1 OL, 1 DL, and 2 LBers that are technically juniors, but are 4th year players were announced with the seniors yesterday on Senior Day. That makes it 16. One player we know has a decision to make as far as injury, which could be 17. 2 of our committed recruits have a ways to go to qualify, so we probably only need 22-23 spots for the incoming guys.

Just make sure you are following Devidee for future updates. biggrin

Fluker could leave , Dee Milliner will, none of the junior DLers are leaving & as for the LBers ? its highly unlikely.
Lacy on the other hand is a possibility.

Out of Lacy, Milliner, Fluker, and Mosley, I expect 3 to leave.

I don't think Fluker should and I don't think Mosley or Lacy will definitely be 1st round guys (probably not for either, IMO), but I am not sure how much either can really improve their stock either by coming back.

the 1 OL, 1 DL, and 2 LBers referred to scholarship RS Jrs that were announced on Senior Day. I would expect that to mean that they are on pace to graduate and won't be back. Those aren't guys that are leaving for the draft.
