#1 Michigan at #3 Indiana game thread

  • Both teams have to get through a game on Wednesday night first though. Michigan def has the easier game against Northwestern at home, while Indiana has to go play at rival Purdue. I think that gives Michigan a small advantage there.

    Anyways with College Gameday going to be in Bloomington who do you like? I think the atmosphere will rival that of the UK game last year. It should be a great game and looking forward to the Saturday night prime time game! Its going to be interesting to watch 2 of the top point guards in Burke and Yogi going head to head for the first time. If Zeller plays the way he has the past couple games IU will be in deep trouble. Anyways I am obviously going to go with the Hoosiers in a classic.

  • Indiana in a close one in my opinion.. It will be very interesting to see how Michigan's freshman respond to an atmosphere like Indiana's.

    Jordan Morgan is down with injury right now, and there is no timetable for his return. Zeller vs Mcgary/Horford does not sound very good for the Wolverines.

    good point about Morgan, I forgot he got hurt. If he cant play thats a huge loss

  • I actually have no idea what's going to happen on Saturday night. On one hand, when we are clicking, we have the potential to blow out any team in the country. Our players will be amped to play a primetime game as (most likely) the #1 ranked team to prove to the nation we're deserving. We will also understand the importance of this game, because if we win, we will be in a great position to take the B1G.

    On the other hand, IU is extremely talented, and they are playing at home on a Saturday night in one of the toughest venues for opponents to play in, with a college gameday atmosphere. They will be seeking to defend homecourt against the #1 team in the nation, who just so happens to have conference implications. It is also Indiana's chance to show the country they deserve to be in the conversation for top-dog, despite two unexpected losses.

    Talent wise, I would give us the slight edge at this point, but that's almost irrelevant. We both have so much talent and it will come down to whoever shows up more prepared, focused, and determined. If we have any stretches like we did against OSU for 7+ minutes, we're toast. If we play to our strengths and our usual shots fall, I think we will steal the game. As of now I'm predicting we win by 8, but I'm as comfortable saying that as I am saying we'll lose by 8.

    Bottom line, I can't f*cking wait for this game to tip-off.

    i used to be a big bobby knight fan. joe hillman was a local heroe of mine growing up here in LA. he played on the 87 champs team.

    Rarely do the gameday games deliver. Butler-Zaga was an exception.

    Crowd is going to be the difference in the final 10:00 of the game. Assembly is going to be insane. Can't wait to watch.

    too bad this game is basically meaningless in comparison to college football regular season games. if i was a coach in this game, i'm keeping special new plays/strategies in reserve for the ncaa tourney

    Game is for first place in conference and will be used in NCAA seeding. So it's important.

    i'd rather keep some important tactics in reserve, lose, and be a #2 seed(less hype and expectation), than win pulling out all the stops. although don't #1 seeds usually get to stay a little closer to home in the tourney?

    They use a pod system now. Basically means if you're top 4 I think they try and put you close
