    Today will be interesting match up. I would have liked to see Iowa win last night and give themselves a chance in the tournament, but at the same time the top 4 moving to the semi finals should make up for some great match ups. IU won't be looking past the Badgers this time. We'll see how well the Badgers can slow them down and if they can make shots. If UW finds a way to win it'll be interesting to see if Crean blows through the handshake line without acknowledging anyone ala his other losses to Ohio State and Wisconsin. I'm sure he'll be all smiles and jovial if IU wins.

  • As a Badger fan if you would have told me Jackson and Berggren would both have 2 fouls and we'd be up 3 at halftime I would have taken that in a heartbeat. Entertaining game thus far.

    I'd say that's actually a really off base statement. For someone who isn't overly athletic, he actually does a good job for Iowa.

    Deshaun Thomas isn't overly athletic either... theyre the same size and not even close to the same player.... whats more off base than...."he actually does a good job for Iowa." as reasoning for disputing a comment?

    His minutes are up...assists are down, rebounds down, steals are down, blocks are down, turnovers are up! FG % and 3 pt % are both down....

    Hows that for a basis?

    You are only telling half the story. Marble played a ton of point last season while Bryce Cartwright was hurt, but he hasn't played it nearly as much this year. His assists and steals are therefore down. Also, without Matt Gatens this year, Marble is taking a lot more of the 3-point shooting role and a lot more of the "clutch shooting" role, which has driven his 3-point and overall shooting percentage down. Also, the main reason his 3-point percentage was better last year was because he had an unprecedented 7/8 3-point performance in the last game of the year. Outside of that one game, his 3-point shooting is up this year.

    In short, Marble's numbers are down this year because his role has changed, but he is playing much better basketball within his role this year than he did last year, even though he has disappeared at time against Iowa's best competition.
