I appreciate the post. Thanks for doing the work.

  • The Pac12 is a mess this year. I don't think that they are going to sell out the conference tournament or even come close.

Yea, Im very close to moving both up. Creighton wins their next two and Ill move them up. As for Temple they already have 5 losses outside the top 50 with 2 being outside the top 100. They take care of business in their next 3 against poor teams and theyll be a lock.

As for the Pac-12, Cal is probably the only team with any chance at an at-large. Even if UW wins out they finish the year with zero top 50 wins and 7 losses, not sure that gets it done. Cal wont have any top 50 wins either but if they win out they will be 26-5 (16-2) so their record alone might sneak them in. I expect they will drop a couple though and the Pac will end up being a 1-bid league.

  • Thanks for the info Terp.. good stuff.

I'm not trying to be too much of a UW homer here, but the Huskies in the past few years haven't started of well but have finished strong towards the end of the season and I think they do the same this year. There's so much talent and athleticism I think they end up getting it done.

  • Borzello actually had UW as his first team out in his bracket today. Looking at it Ole Miss is the only team he left out that I would definitely want in over UW, the rest Im not sure about.

Yes indeed. The trend continues. The BIG continues to beat itself up each night, except sadly, OSU might be pulling away.

    SDWolverine

  • Big home wins for Illinois, Iowa State and Arkansas tonight while Seton Hall and K-State miss chances for big road wins. New Mexico will avoid a slip up with a blowout road win at Air Force. A ton of huge games tomorrow.

    BklynTerp

  • Iowa State has to be in the "should be in" category after rallying from 14 down in the second half to beat K-State. It still has to play a pair of games against Baylor and road games against Missouri and Kansas State, but it looks to be a near certain bet to finish better than .500 in the conference. That coupled with a win over Kansas should cement a place for it in the tournament.

They are certainly building out the resume.

  • Indiana could very easily be on the bubble now

OldOaken247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.

  • Some changes today as Florida State, Illinois, Louisville, Temple and Southern Miss move up to "locks" and UConn with its 4th straight loss moves down to the bubble. Tough losses for Minnesota (@Iowa) and Dayton (Duquesne) last night. Just 3 weeks ago Dayton was top 20 in RPI following a road win against Temple, been quite a fall for them.

Biggest game of the year tonight for BYU at home against Gonzaga as BYU is still without a top 50 win. Northwestern also faces a must-win at home against Nebraska while Oral Roberts, Middle Tennessee and Iona are all in action needing to win to keep their slim at-large hopes alive.

Oh and Indiana would have to seriously implode to miss out, I mean like 2-6 or something like that.

Just saying sitting under .500 in conference right now is not a good thing. If they lose to PU on Saturday they will be 5-7 in conference.

  • BklynTerp, I appreciate this thread tremendously. Old Oaken and I watch the games. Maybe NOW they aren't bubble (they still may be), but if they keep this up they may end up as NIT champs.

They still only have 3 top 50 wins. One or two more and I'd say they're a lock. I could see Kansas State on the road and Baylor at home as possible key victories. The next 3 are all winnable, @OU, @OSU, and A&M at home. Could easily see 3 wins there.

Which is why I put them in the "should be in" rather than the "lock" category.

  • The ACC should be able to get five in this year if NC State can finish good.
