College basketball is suffering a historic drop in offensive efficiency in the early stages of the 2012-13 season, writes Leigh Klein.
As of last week, Dime Magazine’s top point guard prospect, former Five-Star camper, BJ Young. He is averaging 3.5 assists while shooting 45% from the field and 14.3 percent behind the arc. Their second best prospect, Marcus Smart, is almost at six assists however he is shooting a shade under 38% from the floor and less than 21% from 3-point territory. Draftexpress top guard prospects are freshmen Shabazz Muhammad and Archie Goodwin. Muhammad boats nearly an 18% turnover rate and Goodwin is at 20%, that’s a turnover every five trips, Archie has the ball.
