Does Calhoun deserve to be in the HOF?

Two National titles is impressive, but his program has had some serious issues the past couple of years.

He better worry about the NCAA letting them in the dance... UCONN is inelligible based on APR. I guess they sent a letter telling them they would get it fixed asap if the NCAA didnt penalize them.. lol

Yeah, yeah. That's it. Turn the penalty into a recruiting opportunity. Surely the NCAA will go along with that.

NCAA staff was apparently not impressed by UConn's offer to take a recruiting carnival around the country instead of serving a tournament ban. I wonder why.

You're right...the program does have a lot of issues, specifically basketball (let's just forget about football). That is why Susan Herbst, the president of UCONN just hired a new AD, Warde Manuel from Buffalo. He's not a big name but I think he has the capacity to turn things around. The biggest question he'll have to answer is how long can Calhoun continue to coach with poor health. The guy is 70 years old...and has a ridiculous career, reviving that program in 26 years to become one of the nation's top, but things have changed. Big issues regarding Alex Orieki too since UCONN cant play in the tourney next year...will he transfer? Guy has a tough plate to walk into...

This. It's the Hall of Fame. Not the Hall of Integrity.
They've already got cheaters and racists and addicts and everything else in there. Coach K has black marks like Corey Maggette. Bobby Knight is the biggest asshole in history and physically abusive. Hell, even John Wooden himself was notorious for winking, willful blindness to the fairly rampant cheating in his program. And he was just about the nicest guy ever.
