Elder still thinking hoops

    Despite his success on the football field for Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth High School, Cornelius Elder is still thinking basketball.

  • I think this kid would be making a grave mistake by choosing hoops over football. I get that hoops is the much safer sport with more longevity and more lucrative, however at 5'10" 165 there's not a very long future for him there unless he's the next Iverson.

    He is a better football prospect than basketball prospect but hard to call it a mistake if he does what he prefers to do.

    The reality is that he is going to play both, at least initially.
