Mark Jackson hired as Golden State Warriors HC

  • The Warriors have some good young talent so now lets see if Jackson can coach them.

  • All quotable Mark Jackson quotes aside, he'll probably be good for both Curry and Ellis.

  • Looks like Ellis might be on the way out.

  • But he is owed 11 million dollars for each of the next 3 years, so ... maybe not. Besides, he is rumored to be on the trading block pretty much every year at around draft time and the trade deadline.

What a relief for him to finally break away from Stan Van Gundy and his horrendous broadcasting.

  • As a diehard Warriors fan, I'm torn. Gets rid of the worst NBA game color commentator (thank goodness Magic is in the studio), but sticks the Ws with a guy whose commentary suggests he has little clue about Xs and Os (or humor).

    Hand down. Coach down.

I don't like trading just to get rid of someone, because then you usually take less value, but the only way to change the dynamic of their fatal defensive flaw is to break up the Curry-Ellis backcourt (Lee isn't tradeable). I was initially on the Ellis for the No. 2 or 4 pick bandwagon, but neither Kanter, Valanciunas or Biyombo are immediate helps inside at center for what they need. On the other hand, Iguodala isn't a difference-maker in the end, either.

Long story short, we still will suck.

I don't know,he might be ok for you guys,i mean i know your preference would of been a guy who already has coaching experience like a Adleman,Dunleavy, but with the young talent you have and will have coming in from the draft,i think you will be good. Can't be any worse than our situation tho with Mike Brown as our coach

Great point Paul. I'm a huge NBA fan, but I can't stand listening to Jackson's "clever/witty" lines throughout the game. I have no idea how he'll do as a coach. Van Gundy says Jackson will knock it out of the park. I guess I wouldn't be surprised either way.
