  • Thanks for the update Jerry. Does he remind you or have a similar game to any recent college players?

I've struggled with coming up with a comparison. He has some Zach Randolph to his game but Randle is more athletic and doesn't quite have the touch of Randolph. He does remind of a lesser Lebron James with his physical dimensions and ability to pass the ball. Not the leaper, freaky athlete or near as good so don't think I'm saying that. Have thought of Elton Brand before. Looking for a guy who punishes people around the basket. Randle likes to go right through defenders. Need help.

I'm thinking Paul Millsap of the Utah Jazz would be a good comparison. About the same body type, Randle is a bit more athletic but both have about the same ability to put it on the floor and attack the rim very hard. I would say Millsap's outside shooting is a little better than Randle's but that is something he has worked very hard on over the last few years since coming into the NBA. He has developed his game very nicely since entering the nba 6 years ago and is one of the more underrated players in the league.

I asked Gerry Hamilton this question on the Texas board a couple of weeks ago...GH stated Jamal Mashburn might be a good comparison, at least had been suggested to him from a couple of coaches

  • Like the two takes above. Hard to really nail down a comparison for Julius Randle. Thanks for the suggestions.

  • I would also say Chris Webber comes to mind. Not quite as polished as Webber was at the same age but roughly the same abilities and measurables that Webber possessed.
