UVA Basketball

  • Consider themselves a proud member of the ACCs great basketball history. That includes having the 2nd worst winning percentage in conference history and 1 ACC tourney title in 60 years.

    If we want to look at this year we can talk about their 6 wins vs RPI top 100 or their 6 losses vs RPI outside the top 100. Or their loss to 3 win ODU. Or their SOS of 324.

    Or we can talk about how their fans say they will be a top 10 program next year.

  • Great post, really sparked interesting debate. Must be pretty traumatizing to realize how bad your team must be if they got dismantled 74-58 and 73-55 by the team you are mocking. Or maybe it is more embarrassing to consider the time you spent looking up our SOS, conference winning percentage, and number of ACC titles. Or possibly it could be worse that your only player worth a damn has only a few games left before your team turns into an even bigger embarrassment. Good luck next year :)

  • Again UVA has been ranked number 1 in both sports. VT has never been ranked number 1 in any sport.

    UVA returns every single player from this years team, including Joe Harris who should be ACC POY, except a point guard who forces us to play 4 on 5 on offense. And it adds a 4 star shooting guard coming back off a redshirt season, a solid power forward coming in off a transfer, a fully healthy Darion Atkins who showed great potential before his injury, a stronger Mike Tobey, and two good freshman point gaurds, one of whom will be 6-6. Add a top 3 ACC coach and scheme and you seem to have the recipe for a very good team.

    But that's just me. Let me know what you think our weakness is?

  • I am not sure about top 10 but top 25 is definitly possible. Brogdon is the key next year. If he is able to return close to where he was last year Uva could be in for a pretty decent year. Bennett will be able to play 7-9 guys and that is a luxury.

    Since you have time to look up Uva's sos look at tech's sos in the 90's prior to joining the acc in football.

  • I agree. Harris having his shot blocked near the end should not have happened and Evans losing the ball at the end was tough to swallow.
