B1G fans, I'm sure you are aware that everyone in ACC/SEC country is curious about your expansion/realignment, and UVA as #15 seems to be a foregone conclusion once the Maryland lawsuit is settled. It seems that UNC is the preference for #16 by both the B1G presidents and Delany, and Ga. Tech seems to be next in line. However, what schools do the fans and alumni, not necessarily the presidents, of the existing B1G teams want to see added? Is there still a desire for Notre Dame, and does Kansas (after their Grant of Rights with the Big 12 expires) or Missouri register on your radar if you expand to 20?
SEC fanbases are in favor of adding FSU and Clemson if we go to 20 teams, but the presidents are blocking it. I'm just wondering if B1G fanbases are undergoing the same thing. Va. Tech and a North Carolina school will be #15 and #16 for us, but everything after that is up in the air. Ideally, the SEC fans want Va. Tech, UNC, FSU, Clemson, Oklahoma (after their Grant of Rights with the Big 12 expires, of course), and Kansas if you guys don't take them. NC State, Ga. Tech, and West Virginia would be OK if we need an even number, but they are certainly second tier.
B1G expansion... who do alumni/fans really want?
