Nice article Steve. One surprise for me is that Illinois high schools have 7 on that list. C'mon Illini, time to get better. I'm rooting for you. Another surprise is Ohio State with just 3 commits from the top 25 in the midwest. Quite a difference from the days of Tressel. Happy to see that most all of the midwest kids are staying in the neighborhood for their college ball. Thought Penn State would have more than just the one, especially with 5 Pennsylvania kids on the list.

Yes, Illinois annually is a talent hotbed. Illinois, Ohio and Pa consistently lead this region in talent. If Illinois is going to get back to respectability they have to get half those top guys every year, if not more. That's hard with NW, Wisconsin, OSU, Michigan and ND poaching guys.

your class has continued to drop like a stone in 3/4 ratings. also, check out the average star rating on your precious sights. it's mathematical..the more you have the more total points thus higher rankings. Meeechigan fans for as long as I can remember under Carr etc have always had TOp 5 recruiting classes, ran their mouth and accomplished nothing. what is it now 1/2 of a NC in what 64-65 years? talk all you want, the proof is there.

seriously, with all this recruiting "hype" when is the last time your team "sniffed" a big 10 title, you've never even qualified or earned your way to a BCS title game.. wouldn't be talking too much...

Wow! It looks as though the Buckeyes were out recruited by TTUN--and ND as well. I don't think I would buy into an argument that our recruits are more national in scope. Not against TTUN and ND. We didn't get one of the top five.
