Best Of The Midwest:2013 Final List

  • Since when is Ohio considered "Midwest"...? If it is, I had no idea... It's pretty east to be Midwest. But ok.

Uh, I think Ohio has been in the Midwest since they achieved statehood in 1803 (ha ha). Now PA is admittedly stretching it. But I like Midwest better than saying Big Ten Region.

your class has continued to drop like a stone in 3/4 ratings. also, check out the average star rating on your precious sights. it's mathematical..the more you have the more total points thus higher rankings. Meeechigan fans for as long as I can remember under Carr etc have always had TOp 5 recruiting classes, ran their mouth and accomplished nothing. what is it now 1/2 of a NC in what 64-65 years? talk all you want, the proof is there.

seriously, with all this recruiting "hype" when is the last time your team "sniffed" a big 10 title, you've never even qualified or earned your way to a BCS title game.. wouldn't be talking too much...

Regional huh? I see players on 2013 recruiting list outside the Midwest? Apparently you missed that. Dropped mostly because of 2 decommits then one recommitted.
You may not be the salty one but there were others above you, unless you represent all buckeyes.
The way things are looking I bet Michigan gets to the batty champ and win before the buckeyes. But hey that's just my opinion.

Ahahaha. Buckeyes love to insulate themselves with all the heart warming articles like biddles. Then they step into the real world and realize they dont have much.....which btw michigans class is still much better on scout and rivals.

Wait until signing day when we pass you on all of the sites...again. Then you can start ranting about how recruiting is overrated.

How are things looking exactly? Our recruiting class is better than yours, again. We have a way better coach, and current team. Urb went 12-0 without his guys, while on a bowl ban. When's the last time Brady Hoke went 12-0 or even won a conference title? He'll, he hasn't even win his side of the division haha. You'll see against USC Devin Gardner isint good at all and you're in serious trouble without Denard

How do you have a better class? Based on stars? Or what? Devin Gardner will be fine against USC. We will see how horrible Ohio st is next year because you guys weren't even that good. Neither was Michigan so your win doesn't prove much.

Yep, based on stars. Next year you won't see how horrible we are because we play such bad teams, we won't get tested. We will be alot better in Urbans system in year two. I just hope you guys are actually ranked when we beat you guys next year so it helps us!

I love debating with Meeechigan fans, was last years win over tOSU in A2 matter or "prove much?" we were a .500 team that finished 6-7. or a team that has only beaten us 2 out of the last12 years and THEN you have to go back to microfiche to see the other time period you dominated the rivalry, what1897-1914, you talk a lot. in fact since MODERN day football as we know it has evolved your team again has 1/2 of a NC while MSU, tOSU and COUNTLESS other teams have won MANY more!

Wow! It looks as though the Buckeyes were out recruited by TTUN--and ND as well. I don't think I would buy into an argument that our recruits are more national in scope. Not against TTUN and ND. We didn't get one of the top five.
    Homers need not respond.

here are the simple facts...Meechigan has recruited very WELL for YEARS!! they run their mouth, give out September Heisman awards and have shared 1/2 of a NC in the past 65 years I believe. (Side note, they lost that 1/2 a few years later when their players were saying before the Nebraska bowl game, "winners take all" and proceeded to get beat)

So, what do you go on...Coaching.....

You have Hoke, good for you..Hoke has NEVER inherited a team and taken them to a NC or built his own

We have Urban...He BUILT Utah to the BCS buster team that destroyed Bama and they had a perfect season. He inherited a team at UF and won a NC in year two and then built with his players another NC team in 2008. in case you notice Muschamp is doing pretty well with Urban's guys too..

Logic and past history says Meeechigan will continue to recruit well, yet for some reason it doesn't translate to NC or even the past decade BIG 10 titles.. I like where we are at!!

12 and "OH" begs to differ.

When you are ranked behind a team that has 5 less recruits than you do, I feel that alone shows which class is better.

I think when they figure that, they consider that if you were to draw in the middle of the US where would that line be geographically in order to split the states in 50/50. Since half of the states are bunched together on the east coast and much smaller than the ones out west, that line would be placed somewhere near Ohio and Penn, then on down.

You can tell when the immigrants first got here that they realized they needed to start making states bigger because the land was much bigger than they thought.

It was like "OK heres New York (....) Then OK this lands not stopping yet, heres Ohio (..........) Then "aww F&%k it, CALIFORNIA (...........................................)

Well based on we have something besides an O-line and a shorts QB in our class.... shrug

  • Who's better than who is nothing but speculation at this point.

None of these kids have played a down in college.

A lot of these kids can be products of having better teammates and/or weaker competition. They can be playing out of position as a necessity etc.

A perfect example of this is Shane Morris or Jalin Marshal.

Some kids skill/physically develop earlier and some later.

Michigan has a lot of very highly ranked players, it's true.

If our fans want to debate the classes, we could be debating that they don't have enough playmakers coming in.....yet

They can also say we don't have any linebackers coming in....yet.

With the exclusion of Notre Dame and some extent PSU, the Big Ten should be ashamed with their recruiting.

    Outstanding

Ttun has a solid class but I don't think you can make the arguement that they out recruited OSU from this list...Ttun has 17 players with a 90+ rating, including their qb (highest rated in Ttun's class), 14 of the 17 are in the Midwest (poggi-MD, hurst jr-MA, fox-CO are "national recruits") on the other hand OSU has a smaller class with 15 guys 90+ with with only 8 fitting in the Midwest footprint, with the top recruit in the OSU class Bosa from FL, and also have Baugh-CA, Barrett-TX, Hill-SC, Lewis-NC, Woodard-NJ, and Elliot-MO being national recruits... ND's class is very good, with a good amount of midwest recruits to go with their national recruits.

So this is EXACTLY why many fan bases bring up the "arrogance" when talking about you banghead
What do YOU see that leads you to believe you are marching to the NC game? First of all the B1G sucks a$s right now and until the tight wad universities pony up for some top notch coaches we will continue to be second fiddle. Your team would have to actually beat a top ten team before you can start to envision any sort of climb to relevance. Who are the players that are going to lead you to the promise land? You are confident in Hoke and Borges? loco

And yet OSU's class is still better overall. I think Urban knows what he's doing. And I'm certain he doesn't care where he ranks on this list - he cares how his class is overall, not just with Midwest recruits. And guess what, he is ahead of the entire B1G and ND.

Great question, Zeke goes to school in Missouri -- not a Big Ten state. So we did not include him. But he'd be in the top 10 easy if we did.

Missouri is more of a Midwestern state than Pennsylvania! People from PA consider themselves MidAtlantic & not Midwest

    BuckeyeWarrior

  • In regards to the michigan fan who thinks buckeyes fans are salty....our class is better then Michigan's is right now and I would put money on OSU ending with a better class on NSD. Plus since 2000 the TSUN has only one 3 games, you can put this buckeye fan down as NOT SALTY.

  • I'm happy Morris will be at TTUN for the next five years. If he beats TOSU once I'll be shocked! O line is the only area they have recruited at a high level the last two classes. When you look at dynamic playmakers its not even close. They don't have one recruit that matches up athletically with a Marshall, Burrows, Elliott, Apple etc.
