Big Ten Leaders: The Quarterbacks

Since we are into the thick of spring football, we thought it might be interesting to survey the Big Ten schools for where they each stand at the quarterback position.

  • * Coach Bielema Comment: “It’s a mixed bag right now. We have Joe Brennan and Matt Stave"

Matt Stave? Did BB really say that?

Ball tweeted, "Danny o brien just messaged me this.. 'let's do this'... it shall be done then my man. #wiscONsin."

  • Living in Ohio, I get to hear all about Braxton Miller from my Bucknut Buddies....they all believe that Miller will be better than Tebow in UM's system. LOL...Tebow had 55 total TD's his sophomore year, his 1st year as a starter...no way in hell Miller sniffs that total.

He won't get to play 14 games like Tebow got to that year, either. The prorated total for Miller to shoot for in 12 games would be 47. (LOL)

  • Wisconsin's quarterback recruiting needs a major overhaul. Maybe they should recruit the guys the first time around instead of running a Rent-a-QB program...

    Good write up, Steve!

Whatever. Love the uninformed people that like to chime in. Out of the last 5 scholarship QBs that were recruited that would be on the current depth chart, 1 transferred out and three have suffered serious injuries. Same situation as last year. Bielema can't control injuries and needs to bring in bodies. Just because you're jealous that we keep getting good QBs that want to play here is no reason to hate.

I would love to see you guys get decimated with injuries at a position like QB and then see you guys bitch and moan when people rip on you for bringing in players from the outside. Get a clue.blah

Thanks for the comment (at least my part ... LOL). They've done OK with HS QBs, as the next poster points out. Injuries led them to go for the transfers. Hey it's there to take advantage of it's all legal.

Whatever JohnnyBadger, Abusing a transfer rule like Wisconsin is becoming notorious for will come back to bite you eventually. If they don't change the rule before that time. Your program is making a mockery of the meaning post graduate transfers. That's fine though eventually your little run of QB transfers will be over and you will once again be stuck with your average qb recruits.

LOL. I love you guys. You really do a lot to show how ridiculous you really are. How is accepting two transfers "abusing a rule?" It is a rule, isn't it? And two is not really an excessive number, is it? So how exactly is it an "abuse" or a mockery? loco Oh well. Haters gonna hate. I'm pretty OK with our "average" QB recruits. Remember, one of those got us a conference title and a trip to the Rose Bowl the year before Russell Wilson transferred here.

Oh yeah, our recruit coming in this year was the number 7 ranked QB in the country. Pretty average, huh? If our QB recruits are average, what are Iowa's? Lot of big names there. Oh boy....

Better to keep silent and be thought of as an idiot than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

  • And our look at the QB situations at the 6 Legends Division schools:

  • I have no problem with Wisconsin playing within the rules when it comes to these QBs transferring in. My question is, if a Wisconsin QB transfers OUT, will they say he can only play at Appy State, IUPUI or Faber College?

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.

There is only one "Stat" that we want Braxton matching Tebow; two NC's '13 & '14. No pressure...
