Fantastic coverage of such a controversial issue steve. I can't help but to feel a little dirty after reading delany's comments. I'm certainly not a conspiracy theorist but could his comments be any more vague or could he possibly leave himself more open to scrutiny? He's changed his stance on how he supports the post season play. He seems grossly out of touch with the fanbase while contradictingly states that he supports whatever is best for the game. I really want to keep politics out of this thread but be sounds like a presidential candidate. So much $ is changing hands, don't insult the fanbase by trying to insinuate that there will be concerns about fiscal viability. I had a lot of respect for delany standing up to that four letter network but he is just as bad as e Gordon gee in terms of giving them ammunition to criticize the BIG

I like the idea of the plus one. It keeps the bowls viable and relevant and chooses the last two teams after all of the games are played. If you pick the four teams before the bowl games, you may leave out someone who was on the bubble and had a great bowl game, and you may include someone who gets spanked in their bowl game.

And my math, assuming Nebraska got a full share, shows each school gets $24million from the BigTenNetwork. Pretty nice haul.

+1 Every time Delany talks about anything post season, I feel like it's time to wash up and get as far away as possible from this guy.

I thought Delany's comments on the BCS were very telling. There was so much negativity about it and the selection process that some fans (i.e. potential viewers) did not tune in to watch a lot of the BCS games (including the title game).

Whatever they come up with, they need to brand it and treat it as the end all be all to get the casual viewer involved again. I'm not sure a plus-one does that because you could still have a muddled mess after the BCS bowls with 3-4 teams claiming spots in the big game.

To have a clearer picture (and more legitimacy, which should then bring a larger audience), I think they will need semifinals and then a title game.

Excuse me last years Natty was a joke and if you call the BCS as anything short of catastrophe then you'd be right, this is just plain bullshit from people like u think of how much MONEY would be made with a playoff in place, there are so many scenarios that make much more sence than anything like the format u guys have in place right now. No.1, the 4 winners of the 4 bcs bowls playing until final Team standing or No 2 the top 1 or 2 Teams from each conference playing in a playoff, or hey how about No 3 just like all the other Divisions u have a 64 College Team Playoff which to me sounds the best but either way the system u have in place now should never happen again, because cant u people just be honest it has nothing to do with the kids and the experience, its about the MONEY for all u big wigs and thats it. Your just like POLITICIANS u LIE like a DOD in a DOG pin.
