Rating The Big Ten Schedules

Which Big Ten schools and coaches receive high marks or low grades for their nonconference scheduling. (Hint: Playing the defending national champs helps your grade.)

  • Please, for Christ sake, please quit using that picture of hoke. That's the epitome of a fat slob. Just delete that picture from your computer so I never have to see it again!

  • LOL, that was the most extensive review of scheduling I've ever done. Tomorrow, I will try and add a reply with a look at future series each school may have on the books.

  • I agree on the picture. Why do you keep pimping for Hoke. Why no Pellini or Wilson etc. scum
y took the Ala game to enhance national recruiting, a good move.

  • Giving OSU a B minus for not having a ranked team on the schedule (and two ranked above 100) is pretty generous. Their schedule is average at best - C. I don't like the direction they're taking as they should play one elite non-conference program every year. You could argue that a September non-conference loss could knock them out of the final four, but not having a quality non-conference schedule could do the same. I would imagine that quality wins will be a big part of the criteria for the selection committee when they're picking the final four. Not that it matters, but I bet you OSU does not even play a top ten team this year after Michigan loses to Alabama/Notre Dame and Michigan State loses to Notre Dame and possible Boise State. Urban could end up winning his first 20 or 25 games before he has a loss.

  • B-minus may be generous. They are playing top 50 teams, though, and that's a rarity even if it is a low high bar, if that makes sense. We have lowered the bar on expectations so far, this sked pales in comparison. Remember 1995 when they played BC at New Jersey, Washington, at Pittsburgh and home with Notre Dame? Now THAT was a schedule.
