Golden was an assistant at Boston College back in the day, THUS, the rumor that he wants to go back there. As a BC fan, two things I want to add...
1) BC's crowds the last 3 years have gone down because the HC sucks, and the quality of play since being #2 in the country 5 years ago has bottomed out. The former AD Defillippo royally screwed up the Jeff Jagodzinski situation, and then hired an overaged Spaziani then extended him saying he was the best HC at BC over the last 15 years, which was ridiculous. BC will support a winner.
2) I hope BC can do alot better than Al Golden.

maybe I should clarify..........
Never said Al Golden was a bad coach. But I want BC to go with someone that does not have previous BC ties. And besides, BC couldn't afford a coach that is talked about in the same breathe as Nick Saban......

The Golden rumor regarding Boston College has been out there for some time. We've heard it from reliable sources that Golden is at least sniffing around and would listen to an overture. That doesn't mean he'd accept the job.

Fail when your best just isn't good enough, I heard rumors that BC was a relevant program but I didn't believe them.
