Bill Cubit fired at Western Michigan

Just over a week ago, Western Michigan University Director of Athletics Kathy Beauregard gave football coach Bill Cubit a vote of confidence.
On Saturday night Cubit was fired after eight seasons.
After an evaluation process she said had been ongoing all season, Beauregard said she had to recommend that a change be made to move the program forward.

Beauregard said good behavior and grades were important, but needed to translate into more wins on the field.
