$2.5 million buyout, good thing Auburn can pay Chizik's $7.5 million in monthly installments.
However, this does validate rumblings in Montgomery that Dameyune Craig & Jameis Winston will be in Auburn next year.

Jimbo does like the SEC for what it produces. He has built our team like an SEC team. I cannot see him jumping ship. Truthfully, he's got it made in Tally and he knows that.

The only reason he would leave FSU for AU, assuming FSU will match whatever AU would hypothetically offer, is if he has some affinity for AU and/or has always wanted to coach there.

We can... We will buyout the whole staff and pay a new coach a very big cunk of change. Our NC a few years ago gave us a ton of capital.

So 1-7 must be costing you a ton of capital.
Look, Fisher may be a candidate for the job, like the "rumor" in this thread states. But that's all it states. Fisher would be a fool to leave and anyone outside of Auburn would tell you the same.

I'd have a tough time leaving FSU for Auburn and the SEC grinder but that's me. I know from following the realignment stuff that the admin at FSU is a dumpster fire right now. The President is a lame duck so I'm sure much of Jimbo's decision will be based on who they hire.
I will say at least at Auburn you don't have to worry about the money problems that FSU has but FSU could solve those issues by moving the Big 12 in the future. FSU will die on the vine if they decide to stay in the ACC. That would also play into my decision.

Here is a way to look at the Auburn job from a coaches perspective in recruiting...
Auburn is:
Closer to the west side of Atlanta than U of Georgia is
Mobile is talent rich.
Auburn can recruit along I-10 from Jacksonville to New Orleans with some level of success
Auburn can also recruit the Sunshine State and anywhere in the southern half of Mississippi
Auburn, because of Cam Newton, now has more national appeal with the upcoming classes of kids 2014 through 2017'ish.
From a recruiting perspective, just on location, Auburn is in a really good spot.

Yeah. AU is a good destination for any coach for those reasons.
The only reason Jimbo would be making what some consider a questionable move is because he seems to have FSU in position to reel off some good years now, especially because of facing ACC competition instead of SEC competition, whereas at AU he'd have to rebuild, but honestly, it's not that much of a rebuilding job. The talent is there. It just has to be, you know, coached up and developed. Season two for whoever takes over, assuming they are capable, would yield good results and season one doesn't have to be bad.
Not to mention you don't have to be Knute Rockne to stroll in and look like him considering how shatastic of a job this staff did this year. The fan-base would be patient due to that.
