Jon Gruden

  • Our sources tell us Gruden could be in play at USC as well as Tennessee if the Trojans elect to make a move with Lane Kiffin.

  • Someone remind me what this guy has done that is so amazing?

  • I'll continue to say that if the Eagles job is open, that's where he's going.

I have a few doubts about him at the pro level. At the college level more so. He'd be an incredible recruiter. Not so sure about his coaching style and schemes translating to college. JMO.

andy reid gets fired, Gruden is coaching again. Andy Reid doesn't get fired, Gruden is still in the booth.... won't take a college job unless eagles hire somebody else or if he can get an out clause to the eagles (sounds familiar)

  • Vol lock according to tennessee fans and their boards. Radio in Chattanooga reporting a deal has been agreed to in principle but didn't say which coach. Vol fans say the Gruden kids are already touring a school there and Gruden has asked Raheem Morris to be the DC. Gonna be some mattresses burning in Ktown if he isn't coming...

  • No way USC dumps Kiffin unless he loses the next 3 games - and even then - it's doubtful. The recruiting class he's bringing in is just too good,

Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!

Someone remind me what this guy has done that is so amazing?

USC...Lane, recruited and ran one of the best offenses in the history of CFB as the O-Cord under CPC.

Raiders...Took over the #1 worst team in the NFL, with the #1 worst talent, with the #1 hardest owner to work for in sports, for a bunch of players that DID NOT CARE. Was forced to pick the worst #1 overall QB prospect of all time instead of taking his #1 choice WR Calvin Johnson.
Doubled the teams wins and actually had the team believing and WANTING to play again.
Took QB JR and was starting to turn him into a so-so average NFL QB (as we look back, was the most amazing accomplishment in the history of the NFL)

Tenn... Took over a 5 win team that just lost to Wyoming at HOME!
Improved the team by 2 wins and bringing them to a solid bowl, upsetting a couple teams on the way, and pushing the #1 and #2 team in the country to the end. All with bad talent which included a couple walk-ons in the O-Line.
Took a left for dead senior QB, and actually turned him into a NFL draft pick. The QB and his dad singing Kiffin praises to the media.
He leaves, a riot ensues. If he sucked, would the Tenn fans mind that he left to go home?

USC... took over a Trojan team that was in the middle of a sh!t storm! After the sanctions came down, most fans and people in the media said USC would be dead for at least 10 years. No school can survive the "near death sentence" that Miami's Paul Dee brought down onto USC.
His 2nd season? Beats championship contenter Oregon @ Oregon, and climbs to #5 in the nation! Leaving people shocked!

    Just that

I think you are on the wrong thread. Lane Kiffin thread resides under that header. Thanks for the wiki data though.
