You have no favorite boards.
Off the top of my head I can't remember any head coaches leaving their upper echelon alma maters after successful seasons to go another school with only marginal advantages. So why would Gundy leave OSU? He's got all that Boone Pickens money behind him.
Jimbo Fisher? Given the talent FSU attracts, he still hasn't proven to me he can take them to the next level. Don't know why he'd want to leave.
I don't see Petrino getting a prestigious job at this time; he'll have to work his way back up and keep his nose clean for a while.
Tuberville? Not very inspiring, and getting on in years.
Jon Gruden? I like him a lot, and I'd hate to have to recruit against him. But he could command more than a troubled Tennessee program can offer at this time. I could be wrong; hope not.
Kirby Smart? His reputation took a hit with the bad loss to A&M. Didn't have a scheme ready for Johnny Football and didn't adjust at the half. Also, will his audible system work against hurry-up offenses? Still, he will probably get some offers.
All your opinion and not really the opinion of folks in football. I mean the fact that you mentioned recruiting as a positive for Gruden and money as an obstacle really just means- "just my opinion".
Also, athletic directors and people that actually make these decisions don't base hires on one game. Fans believe the myth that stocks move up and down for coaches bases on a theoretical gameplan or every win and loss, but that's not reality.
So the title of your post should probably be "my (uninformed) opinion on things"
Thanks!
