SEC looking at 4 openings...

After today, sources tell us there's very little chance that Derek Dooley and Gene Chizik survive. Rumors are swirling that both Tennessee and Auburn are looking to make big name hires.
Of course, Arkansas and Kentucky are already open. Informed sources indicate Arkansas is getting very close to making a decision and that Kentucky is looking to make a splash. The Wildcats appear to be ready to spend big bucks if they can land a big name. We're told AD Mitch Barnhart is not a Bobby Petrino fan, but we're also told not to rule him out as the search progresses...

What about bama if saban goes to the browns? Also miles to the cowboys. If that happens, 6 big spots r open and i dont know who fills them

I see Les Miles leaving before Saban. Saban has already been to the NFL. He makes what 5million at Bama a year, and has a top 5 recruiting class ever year and playing for a SEC title, NC, or a big time bowl majority of the time. Just cannot see him leaving right now. Though you never know.

Mitch Barnyard isn't going to go after the one guy that could fix their issues (Petrino) because he thinks he is a shady person, yet he mysteriously employs one of the shadiest coaches in the NCAA for basketball? If he gets any other name brand coach I'd be shocked.

Agree with this in context but at Kentucky basketball is the cow. They could go 0-12 in football, as long as the basketball team is winning big, those people are happy.
Without knowing you, I'm trying to figure out if you're a Louisville fan. If so then I would fall back on discussing shady coaches. Pitino's skeletons are quite extensive as well.

Pitino cheated on his wife, something that 50%-70% of men admit to (depending on what poll you believe). The fact that Rick cheats on his wife was known even when he was at UK. Trust me it's no secret around these parts. But the fact is HE'S NEVER HAD A SINGLE NCAA VIOLATION UNDER HIS WATCH and he's never even been accused of breaking the rules. Stop with the Pitino is shady crap. UL basketball team has a collective GPA over 3.0, the highest in the Big East. UK's kids don't even have to go to class to play. It's not the same.
As for UK basketball being a cash cow, that's a joke as well. The overall UK athletic program returned $0.00 to the school last year. UK basketball is a big money maker for sure, but that $23,000,000 check that UK gets from the SEC is primarily FOOTBALL revenue. Which UK spends on primarily on basketball and NOT football.
Making money in college athletics IS about football. I hope UK gets a good coach and starts investing in their football program. With their fan base and resources I think UK could be a perennial top 25 team. And that would be great for the state of KY and great for the rivalry with UL, FL and Tenn.
So count me in as a UL fan that would like to see a good hire for the cayuts! And I hope we kick their ass every year on the field! Go CARDS!

5 big spots....there isn't anything big about a football position at uofk. those people don't care about anything other than men's bball...it's their life
