The University of Texas might be looking to further monetize their athletic programs by allowing for the sale of alcohol at football, basketball and baseball games. Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds indicated discomfort at the possibility of beer and liquor at Longhorn sporting events, saying "it doesn't quite feel right, but ... it might be safer to serve it than not serve it." Dodds also stated that baseball might get the first test run before expanding it to the major non-revenue sports.
