• Kevin Johns is in his third season at Indiana. He will serve as the assistant offensive coordinator and coach the wide receivers and quarterbacks for the second straight year.
• Named the top wide receivers coach in the Big Ten on March 2, 2011, by Rivals.com.

• The Hoosiers led the Big Ten in passing offense (311.2), which ranked 17th nationally, and set program records for passing yardage (3,734), completions (331) and attempts (540) in 2012.

• Improved by 111.8 passing yards per game (3rd) and threw 14 more touchdown passes (T-9th) vs. 2011.

• Cody Latimer (67.1, 4.2), Shane Wynn (55.0, 5.7) and Kofi Hughes (58.1, 3.9) each ranked in the Big Ten's top 10 in receptions and yardage per game in 2012. The Hoosiers were the only conference team with a trio in the top 10 in either category.

• Latimer earned second team All-Big Ten honors and finished second in the Big Ten in yards per game, tied for fourth in TDs and seventh in receptions per game.

• Wynn, an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection, finished fourth on IU's single-season list with 68 catches and was second in the Big Ten in receptions per game, tied for fourth in scores and eighth in yards per game.

• Hughes became the 35th Hoosier to surpass the 1,000-yard career mark and is 24th all-time with 1,217 yards. He ended the year sixth in the Big Ten in yards per game and 10th in receptions per game.

• Quarterback Cameron Coffman finished third on Indiana`s single-season lists in completion percentage, fourth in passing yards, completions and attempts, sixth in TDs and seventh in total offense.

• Coffman ranked second in the Big Ten in passing yards per game, completions and attempts, third in passing yards, tied for third in touchdowns and fourth in total offense.

• Nate Sudfeld became the third true freshman quarterback in school history to play and went on to collect honorable mention BTN.com All-Big Ten freshman honors.

• Oversaw one of the youngest receiving corps in the country, with six underclassmen accounting for 110 receptions, 1,385 yards and eight touchdowns in 2011.

• Spent the 2004-10 seasons at Northwestern University, including the last five as wide receivers coach. Johns was running backs coach in 2004 and 2005 and was appointed recruiting coordinator in July of 2006, a position he held until January of 2008 when he assumed the role of passing game coordinator.

• Coached Jeremy Ebert, who collected 2010 first team All-Big Ten honors and was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by New England. He wrapped up the season with a conference-best 73.3 receiving yards per game.

• Ebert tied for fifth on NU's single-season receiving TDs list with eight, ninth on the single-season receptions list with 62 and fourth on the single-season yardage list with 953.

• Second team All-Big Ten honoree Zeke Markshausen (91 receptions, 7.0 per game) ranked second in the Big Ten and 13th in the nation in catches per game in 2009. Andrew Brewer tied for second in NU single-season history with nine touchdown catches. The 2009 Wildcats ranked first in the Big Ten and 13th nationally in passing offense.

• Eric Peterman, along with Ross Lane, both closed their careers with 2,000-plus receiving yards and rank in Northwestern's top 10 in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns.

• In 2007, Peterman earned a Rivals.com All-Big Ten nod after leading the squad with 66 catches for 744 yards, the seventh-best single-season receptions total in NU lore. For the first time in school history, four players finished the year with 45-or-more receptions.

• Tutored All-Big Ten (honorable mention) wide receiver Shaun Herbert in 2006. Herbert ended his career fourth on NU's all-time receptions list with 168.

• As running backs coach, mentored Noah Herron, who earned second team All-Big Ten honors, and Tyrell Sutton, the 2005 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and the 2005 Sporting News National Offensive Freshman of the Year.

• Herron was the nation's 14th-leading rusher (115.1 ypg) and a Senior Bowl invitee in 2004. He was later drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sutton recorded the eighth-best rushing season in the country with 122.8 yards per game.

• NU's offensive graduate assistant for three seasons from 1999-2001 under Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson, who served as the offensive coordinator.

• Worked as the University of Richmond's receivers coach for the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

• In his two-year stint as a starting quarterback at the University of Dayton, Johns recorded a 20-1 record and was named a Division I-AA All-American.

• Graduated from Dayton with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics in 1998. In August 2001, he received his master's degree from Northwestern's School of Education and Social Policy program.

• Kevin and his wife, Krista, have twin sons, Logan and Tyler (8), and a third son, Carter (6).
