Auburn commit can't pull for Tide

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A hot topic on the sidelines at practice for the Alabama-Mississippi all-star game this week was the forthcoming BCS National Championship game between top ranked Notre Dame and defending champion Alabama.

Auburn defensive tackle commit thinks Alabama will beat Notre Dame by two touchdowns.

On Thursday, a number of prospects offered up predictions for the Jan. 7 match-up between two of the most storied programs in college football.

Dee Liner, DE/DT, Muscle Shoals (Ala.)
Committed to- Auburn

“I’ll bet everything Alabama will beat the brakes off them. Well, don’t say brakes. It should be a good game, but I think Alabama will win by 13 or 14.”

Jeremy Johnson, QB, Montgomery (Ala.) Carver
Committed to- Auburn

“Notre Dame. It’s going to be a close game, but Notre Dame is going to win. I just can’t root for Alabama!”

Tony Conner, S, Batesville (Miss.) South Panola
Recruitment- Ole Miss or Alabama

“I’m going with Roll Tide. I mean, Alabama has been in the BCS Championship what seems like every year. They are just like South Panola. Coach Saban hasn’t lost in the game, and he doesn’t take too many losses, so I’m pretty sure he’s hyped up for this one.”

Kailo Moore, RB, Rosedale (Miss.) West Bolivar
Committed to - Mississippi State

Auburn commit Jason Smith says he thinks Alabama will beat Notre Dame by a touchdown.

“I’ll say Alabama is going to blow Notre Dame out. While Notre Dame is number one in the country, they haven’t played a team like Alabama. I’ll say probably about 42 to 14.”

Reuben Foster, ILB, Auburn (Ala.)
Recruitment- Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, others

“I got Notre Dame. Wait, no I got Alabama. Well, it’s going to be a close game. I’m taking Notre Dame by a touchdown, but both teams are there for a reason.”

Marquez White, ATH., Dothan (Ala.) Northview
Committed to- Florida State

“I got Bama winning 28-10. The SEC is a lot different than any conference Notre Dame is playing.”

Ashton Shumpert, ATH. Tupelo (Miss.)
Recruitment - Mississippi State or Ole Miss

“I think Alabama will win. I don’t think Notre Dame will be able to hold up. I’ll say 42-14 or something like that.”

Jason Smith, ATH. Mobile (Ala.) McGill-Toolen
Committed to- Auburn

Mississippi State commit Chris Jones, a Top247 prospect, predicts a final score of Alabama 35, Notre Dame 7.

“I’m going with Bama. I think they are going to bring another one home for the state. I mean, just add another one to their collection. I’ll say 31-24.”

Chris Jones, DE, Houston (Miss.)
Committed to - Mississippi State

“I’m going with Alabama man. I just don’t see Notre Dame whipping Alabama, not with the powerhouse they got. I’m thinking 35-7.”

Earnest Robinson, WR, Pinson Valley (Ala.)
Committted to- Auburn

“Let me see. I think Notre Dame has the quarterback. I think it’s going to be…I don’t know, but I think it’s going to be a good game. Alabama will probably take it easy one them, so Notre Dame will probably win the game. I don’t know a score, but it will be a good game.”

Johnathan Ford, RB, New Hope (Ala.)
Committed to- Vanderbilt

“I’m predicting a 32-14 Alabama win. It’s SEC football. They (Notre Dame) can’t keep up.”

Kent Flowers, OT/G, Hollandale (Miss.) Simmons
Committed to - Mississippi State

Kent Flowers believes Notre Dame will win the BCS National Championship Game.

“I want to say Notre Dame because I like Notre Dame, but Alabama is really good. It’s going to be a really good game to watch. No score in mind, but I want to say Notre Dame will win.”

Nate Andrews, ATH, Fairhope (Ala.)
Committed to - Minnesota

“Alabama 34-14 because of the defense. Notre Dame hasn’t faced a defense like Alabama.”

Gabe Myles, ATH, Starkville (Miss.)
Committed to- Mississippi State

“Well, I’m going to pull for the SEC no matter what. I think Alabama will show up and win the thing. Score wise, it will be a close game, but think Alabama will pull it out.”

Cameron Fraser, OT, Phenix City (Ala.) Central
Committed to- South Florida

“I pick Alabama, but I want Notre Dame to win. I got my first letter from Notre Dame when I was a 10th grader.”

Nick Mullens, QB, Birmingham (Ala.) Spain Park
Committed to- Jacksonville State

“I’m going to say 27-21 Notre Dame. I think people are overlooking them. All of the Alabama fans are underestimating them.”

Wilson Bell, OG, Eight Mile (Ala.) Blount
Committed to - UCF

“34-7 Alabama. I just don’t think Notre Dame can keep up with them.”

National analyst Keith Niebuhr contributed to this story.
