Elite twins visit Maryland

Andrew Harrison and Aaron Harrison enjoyed their visit to Maryland, but are family ties and a beloved former team enough to draw this elite backcourt to College Park?

Andrew Harrison is a power guard in the mold of a Chauncey Billups.

After participating in the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va., the Harrison twins headed to Maryland's campus to visit good friend and former teammate Shaquille Cleare, who will be a freshman at Maryland next year.

"It went pretty well," said Andrew and Aaron's father and coach. "They wanted to visit the school and wanted to see Shaq. He's a big part in their interest in Maryland. It's a big connection."

After the day visit, the twins headed up to Baltimore to spend the night with their grandparents.

In July the Harrisons will participate in the Reebok camp, NY2LA Under Armour event and AAU Nationals.

The Harrisons play for an Under Armour sponsored travel team. Kentucky, who the Harrisons are also considering along with Baylor, SMU and Villanova, is a a Nike school while Maryland is an Under Armour school.

Nonetheless, Kentucky appears to be in a strong position with the twins.

Andrew is the top point guard in the 2013 class. Aaron the top shooting guard in the class.
