Beaver tours ASU campus

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive back Brandon Beaver was one of several visitors on hand for junior day at ASU yesterday. This morning Beaver and several teammates were already back home and getting ready to head to the Nike camp at the USC campus today.

Beaver is one of the most sough after prospects in the West and holds at least ten verbal offers.

He has previously visited Arizona State but this was his first chance to talk with head coach Dennis Erickson.

"ASU's junior day was really cool," Beaver said. "I spoke with coach Erickson after most of the recruits had left. It was my first time talking to him since they offered. He was upset because their top corner had just torn his ACL. They only have three defensive backs on scholarship right now so they really need guys that can play."

In addition to the long talk with coach Erickson, Beaver was able to watch practice and learn some new techniques.

"Me and Alphonso (Marsh/teammate) and Kevon Seymour (Muir, Calif.) all spent time with coach (Greg) Burns watching film," he said. "He was showing all of us a lot of love and I really enjoyed that. I did spend more time seeing the city this time and it's beautiful there. It's a little hot, but I can get used to that."
