Decisions, decisions

Nine of the Top 25 prospects in the country according to 247Sports remain uncommitted heading into the December dead period. Here’s a look at where we think they may end up when all is said and done.

Ole Miss remains the odds-on favorite to land Robert Nkemdiche, the nation's No. 1 prospect.

Robert Nkemdiche, DE/T, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson

247Sports Ranking – No. 1 overall with a rating of 100, as well as a 247Composite rating of 1.000

All eyes continue to be on the nations top ranked prospect following his de-commitment from Clemson Nov. 8. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound high school end that projects to tackle in a 4-3 scheme, will likely make January visits to Ole Miss, Alabama and possibly LSU before making a final decision. Ole Miss remains the favorite to land Nkemdiche.

Montravius Adams, DT, Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County

247Sports Ranking – No. 2 overall with a rating of 100, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9971

The nations second-anked prospect continues to have Clemson and Georgia at the top of his list with Alabama, Auburn and Florida still having an outside chance. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound ultra-quick defensive tackle prospect was thought to be a lean to Clemson and/or Auburn before the season, but the Bulldogs have made the most of their season making a strong push. January official visits are still to come for Adams, with Clemson getting one Jan. 11.

Laremy Tunsil, OT, Lake City (Fla.) Columbia

247Sports Ranking – No. 4 overall with a rating of 100, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9984.

Five-star linebacker Reuben Foster is expected to stay close to home and attend Georgia, Auburn or Alabama.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pound five-star Tunsil is thought by 247Sports to be favoring Georgia slightly over Alabama with uncertainty surrounding how the loss of Jeremy Pruitt to Florida State could negatively effect the Crimson Tide. Ole Miss and Florida State are also in line for official visits with Tunsil expected to announce on signing day. Alabama is tentatively scheduled to be the first official visit on Jan. 11 while Georgia is a possibility for Jan. 18.

Tony Conner, S, Batesville (Ms.) South Panola

247Sports Ranking – No. 8 overall with a 99 rating, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9895

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Conner continues to list five schools that he plans to visit in January, but his decision will come out of Ole Miss and Alabama, and it could be made as a early as the Under Armour All-America game on Jan. 4. If Conner takes his recruitment into January, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State and possibly Georgia will receive official visits with LSU also in the mix. Ole Miss remains the team to beat.

Reuben Foster, ILB, Auburn (Ala.)

247Sports Ranking – No. 10 overall with a 99 rating, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9946

The former Alabama and Auburn commitment is back to square one with roughly six weeks to signing day. The Tigers are still very much in the race for the hard-hitting five-star linebacker, but Georgia is gaining momentum fast. Alabama, Texas A&M, Miami, South Carolina and Washington are also mentioned, but the 6-foot-1, 237-pounder is expected to stay close to his young daughter when all is said and done.

Matthew Thomas, OLB, Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington

If Florida lands five-star running back Alex Collins to go along with five-star Kelvin Taylor and three-star Adam Lane, the Gators should have the best running back class in the country.

247Sports Ranking – No. 13 overall with a 99 rating, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9939

Thomas has been a Miami and Florida State battle for months, and nothings has changed. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound five-star linebacker with uber-long arms may also trip to Georgia and Alabama, but this one will come down to hometown Miami and rival Florida State. Thomas will make all official visits in January.

Alex Collins, RB, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) South Plantation

247Sports Ranking – No. 17 overall with a 98 rating, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9657

The former Miami commitment took an official visit to Florida over the weekend and the news coming out of the visit was that the Gators are the leader. The 5-foot-11, 204-pound five-star explosive back will visit Miami Jan. 18, and Arkansas is expected to make a run with the hiring of Brett Bielema, who recruited Collins hard when he was the head coach at Wisconsin. Florida State was once thought to be the favorite, but the Seminoles have fallen off with former FSU running backs coach Eddie Gran accepting the offensive coordinator job at Cincinnati.

Robert Foster, WR, Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley

247Sports Ranking – No. 23 overall with a rating of 98, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9819

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Foster is set to announce on Friday between hometown Pittsburgh and Alabama. The five-star prospect is an Alabama lean according to many, but Pittsburgh is in the back yard and at least one parent is pushing for the Panthers. Should Foster choose Pittsburgh, that would give Paul Chryst and staff a pair of five-star prospects in Foster and offensive tackle Dorian Johnson (Belle Vernon, Pa.).

Vonn Bell, S/CB, Rossville (Ga.) Ridegeland

247Sports Ranking – No. 25 overall with a rating of 98, as well as a 247Composite rating of 0.9741

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Bell is down to Alabama, Ohio State and Tennessee with the Vols in the position of playing catch-up. The five-star prospect is thought by many to be a prospect newly hired head coach Butch Jones can snag at Tennessee, but Nick Saban and Urban Meyer are two of the toughest to beat down the stretch, and both will receiver official visits. Many have the Crimson Tide out in front entering January.
