Brown is now one of Georgia's best

Orlando Brown has transferred from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha to Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge, where he quickly becomes one of the top class of 2014 prospects in the Southeast.

Alabama, Iowa, Maryland, Notre Dame, South Carolina, USC and West Virginia have already offered the 6-foot-8, 320-pound Brown, who is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Orlando Brown.

Brown reports no favorites very early in the process, and has yet to take any college visits. However he’s very familiar with Iowa, with his father having played for Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz when he was an assistant with the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns

“My Dad told me he was a great coach, and he helped him a lot in the pros in becoming that great offensive lineman, and becoming that Pro Bowl athlete he always wanted to be. I know Coach Ferentz can make me that first round draft pick I want to be.”

Brown says he’s looking to visit Iowa and USC for junior days during the spring, and he thinks Auburn could be the next program to offer.
